He knows a lot about MMA. His whole family brothers, sister are into MMA and also his dad is a former pro MMA fighter who called himself the Tiger.....Dieusuel "Tiger" Berto.
Kelly Pavlik is really strong, double tough, hits like a truck, and already studied martial arts. I have no idea about weight classes in MMA, but I think Pavlik would do quite well against guys his own size.
James Toney clearly is not the ideal representative for boxing in the MMA arena.
If so then who is the ideal or best representative? Assume 12 months training before fighting a top 5 MMA fighter.
My pick would be Cintron since he already is a wrestler. Vitali and Wladmir were kickboxers but I don't know how good they are in Sambo/grappling.
With 12 months training Pacquiao could do well with his athleticism, speed, and power. Plus, he is an ex-Muay Thai fighter.
Hopkins, because of high intelligence, could learn grappling very quickly. And De La Hoya is Gracie trained in jujitsu.
James Toney is no good because he has and never has had QUICK FEET, he's a counter puncher.
David Tua would be a much (younger david tua) better, both klitchkos and shannon briggs have the STRENGTH to wrestle with these guys along with good hands.
I think JEAN PASCAL could be a good 170 pounder in mma along with edison miranda and jeff lacy.
It's no good naming names unless any of these guys know grappling or jujitsu. Any boxer no matter how talented will get taken down and pounded/submitted...
