Comments Thread For: Pascal-Hopkins: Shaw Questions HBO's Involvement

Promoter Gary Shaw is questioning the willingness of HBO to televise a fight between WBC/IBO light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal and former champion Bernard Hopkins. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer advised BoxingScene.com's Lem Satterfield that Pascal-Hopkins could possibly take place on December 18. [Click Here To Read More]

Newsflash. Dawson lost and he needs to work his way back and redeem some credibility. Why does Shaw care about who Pascal is gonna fight when Dawson is gonna get his shot anyway?

Dawson needs to work his way back??? WTF!

best way to regain your "credibilty" would be to comeback and beat the guy that beat you

Right. And he hasn't done that yet. And he won't fight anybody that poses a threat in between now and the rematch. You can count on it.

I'm not even the biggest Hopkins fan anymore. But I still don't know why people bash him for fighting Pascal after Dawson lost. It baffles me. So I guess Floyd should've fought Margarito instead of Mosley. Lol. Dawson was a little competitive at the end, but still.

If Pascal loses to Hopkins what happens to the Dawson rematch then? Because we all know Hopkins isnt fighting Dawson...

And why the hell should he? Dawson sucks. I don't even think Dawson could beat the top guys at 168. Maybe the bottom feeders. And he is overpaid on top of it when HBO offered a lame amount to begin with where the split is concerned.

I think you guys are missing the obvious. What's Shaw is saying is that HBO may be cutting yet another questionable deal with GBP for December 18 while telling other promoters that the date is closed. Which is ridiculous.
