I'm sure Margarito will train very hard for this fight to try to prove that he hasn't been a cheater during his career but I think he's basically too slow and punches too wide to beat Pacquiao. I think Pacquiao will be able to basically land whatever he wants to whenever he wants to and then be able to slide out to either side and do it all over again. I think Pacquiao wearing down and stopping Margarito is entirely possible because I think Pacquiao will be throwing a lot of combinations to the body and the head and I doubt Margarito will be able to take them all night.

Have to agree. This makes the whole sport look bad.

Pacquiao is really tarnishing his legacy with this and the Clottey fight. He should have stayed with Golden Boy or promoted himself like David Haye and Mayweather.

Bob Arum is ruining one of the best things to come along in boxing in a long time.

Iole is not wrong. Pacquiao ultimately is the one who signs off on fights and enters the ring. He had a choice and he allowed Arum to make it for him.

I think that's the pinoy in him. Hope pac will act like a true champ that he is one day and tell arum what his truly feelings are.

Pacquiao stood there to be hit by Cotto and Clottey though, I expect the gameplan to be something similar to how Pacquiao fought DLH, side to side, combinations and never stop moving, I think that's basically what he'll do until he feels Margarito wilt a little, then maybe we'll see Pacquiao stand still a little more to get more purchase in his shots.

I agree with what you are saying but I mean that slow margo who was always being beaten to a punch by cotto in the earlier rounds eventually catch cotto with wicked punches to the head and to the body in the later rounds and made him kneel in the 11th round if i'm not mistaken.

Yeah but Cotto had stamina problems, he starts wilting after the 7th or 8th rounds of his fights when he's put under pressure. And Cotto sat on the ropes, which is a big no no, he started doing that in the 2nd round, which is when he got his nose busted. And Cotto's movements were predictable, he primarily moves one way when he's backpedaling, Pacquiao is quite unpredictable.

Pacquiao hasn't shown any stamina issues since moving up in weight, he rarely sits on the ropes when he doesn't want to and as I said earlier, he's not nearly as predictable as Cotto is.

Edit: And Pacquiao is a southpaw, I don't believe Margarito has beaten a southpaw since he fought Six Heads Lewis. Santos and Williams are southpaws, even though they are much bigger, taller and rangier than Pacquiao, it could be something to look out for. And remember the shot that really hurt Margarito when he fought Mosley? It was when Mosley turned southpaw and came back with a sweeping left hook.
