Do You Guys Think Paul Williams Really Wants To Fight Sergio Again?

As i've mentioned before, one of the IT guys from work goes to the same Oxnard gym as Sergio...well, i ran into him after work today and he said he talked to one of Sergio's trainers and they are 'hopeful' the rematch gets signed

he gave the impression that, according to the trainer, Williams is the one holding up the fight from being finalized

he also said that they're gonna do their best to make sure that the one ******ed judge who had that crazy Williams margin would not be asked to do this fight

well, the lineal MW champ of the world wants Williams, do you guys think Williams wants that fight?

seems like he's looking for welterweights nowadays

    Wrong.

I talked to Paul on Twitter yesterday and the only thing holding up the fight is the venue. They have no idea where to put the fight. It has nothing to do with Williams or Martinez at this point everything is finalized.

I don't think that Williams is avoiding a rematch, but I don't think it was his first choice either. Martinez is a difficult guy to fight.

Williams camp knows what happened the first fight while Sergio only had a 6 week camp. Martinez isn't no Quintana.

They probably look at a rematch as a cashout with perhaps an opportunity for a trilogy, but they probably don't want to put Paul through that again. Martinez was landing ridiculously clean and hard power punches first tim around. Paul was hurt from the knockdown shot and follow up for the first 3 rounds.

Do you know if they are leaning towards a certain venue?

Well thats odd because he offered Martinez an immediate rematch that was turned down so I hardly believe he didnt want to fight.

Oh and the fight is November 20th everything is good to go except the venue.

Naw I only got to ask him was he fighting him November 20th and when willa formal announcement be made.

They have to find someplace small because neither of these fighters are draws at all. Thats what Im thinking.

I think Paul Williams thinks he is a bigger star than he is and thought he could get bigger fights. When that didn't work in his favor, he was/is willing to fight Martinez.

After beating Pavlik, I think Martinez thought the same exact thing.
