2007 was when he was at the top of his game. The 05/06 version was weight drained and was stunned multiple times by Paulie Malignaggi. Floyd would have possibly KO'ed that version of Cotto.

As for the 2007 version, that would certainly go the distance. It would be a much closer fight, which I can see Floyd taking. Cotto cannot outbox Floyd, and he tends to back up when he gets caught flush too much. I can see him doing that after taking too many right hand leads.

Cotto would knock out Mayweather. Thats why he always ducked Cotto.

        Even now I'd favor Cotto.

you make good points, but floyd retired instead of fighting cotto and margarito before they had their war

Cotto would be blessed to catch Floyd flush period...I know that's what you would want to happen

How would he have KO'ed Floyd in 2007? The size advantage for Floyd makes Cotto's jab easier to neutralize. He also backs up when he gets caught flush to many times, and we all know Floyd's right hand would connect every time he threw it. Also, Cotto isn't a 12 round fighter. When he's in a fight that will most likely go the distance, he steals early rounds and then tries to run his way to a decision. He's certainly not stealing 7 rounds. And he didn't have as much one punch knockout power at 147 either. Maybe at 140, but not at 147 (well unless he caught his opponent with that deadly shot to the body). No matter who won, the fight would most likely go the distance.

the KO prediction is ridiculous of course, but floyd wasn't so confident in winning I guess because he retired instead of fighting cotto and margarito

Even as a Floyd fan, I will admit that the retirement was pretty ******. I support everything before that because it made him the star he is today. But not the retirement. I mean if he hadn't retired, there's no telling how good his resume could have been right now.
