lmaol like i said don't come up with the bull**** excuse of pr being an island of fewer people. There are other few countries bigger or about the same size as mexico and have fewer champs. Like I said if it was all about the amount of population wouldn't china be one of the top in boxing champions followed by India, pakistan, japan, russia, nigeria, brazil etc that are bigger countries than mexico by population.

Yes PR boxers are good they represent their country really good but the population and small island fewer people than mexico is not valid or true because if it was well the countries i just mentioned and few others would have more champs than mexico.

The deal is, sure there are other countries bigger than mexico who have not produced nowhere the # of champions as mexico. BUT those countries you mentioned india, brazil, china, even canada, have very little interest in the sport of boxing. Sure we'll see a fighter come out from one of those, once in a while, but not consistently. They enjoy other sports. Imagine mexico challenging canada in hockey? both countries about the same size, the outcome wouldn't be pretty I assure you! Puerto Rico is only 35 miles wide and 100 miles long (3,515 square miles) while mexico is over 761,600 square miles in size. A differance of about 758,085 square miles. While mexico city (a city) ALONE has more people than all of Puerto Rico! So YES!! It does matter that a speck on the map thats smaller than the capital of mexico can compete against GIANT COUNTRIES!! And if it didn't??? Why all the fuss? If it didn't bother you?
