Manny Pacquiao : Are We Asking the Right Questions?

Of course. You strike while the iron's hot. And the issue is on the table now - as much as Pac would like for it to disappear. So everyone's gotta get on the bandwagon. Reporters have to start asking the tough questions and writing the tough articles - doing their research as the whistleblowers. Fans need to put aside ****** biases and recognize that the testing is for the greater good. DEMAND IT.Comment

It could be that the problem is so deep rooted the organizations running the sports don't want to risk unveiling all
It wouldn't be impossible for Top Rank or Golden Boy to start testing their fighters or the WBC testing it's champiuons, but would they really want to do it?Last edited by TRAV1$; 08-26-2010, 08:47 AM.Comment

That is the problem. And the commissions and sanctioning bodies are willing to look the other way because they are afraid that if they become proponents of tougher testing, promoters like Arum will just take their fighter to another state. It's blackmail really. The commissions lost their spine ages ago - if they ever had one.Comment

If they wanted to do it properly, the tests would have to be random
If it's true that HGH can be out of the system in weeks, then a fighter could make sure he was clean before going to be tested
That's what was so ****** about Mosley and Mayweather doing the tests before their fight, I'm not saying that either are using any sort of PED, but they could have come off it months before the fight.Comment

Well now is not the time to be biased. Everyone should take the tests. Granted, as costly as it is, it will be limited to only a few fights early on. Only guys like Mayweather & Pacquiao can really afford to do it across the board. That's where the fans should be slapping them daily if they refuse to take the tests. Further, testing NEVER starts across the board. It always begins with a fight here, a fight there, etc. That's how it gathers steam. In this case, Top Rank tried to kill the issue before it started. That shouldn't have come as a surprise. Watching the media show their lack of cojones did, however.Comment

I really hate how *****s try not give pac any credit for his wins over, DLH, Cotto, Hatton, CLottey making out as if they were nothing.
ANd then accuse Pac of being on roids? What did he do that so impressed you that makes you accuse him of roids?
Beating Hatton, Cotto, CLottey must have been more remarkable than pac critics will admit.Comment

My opinion is that at least 50% of all pro athletes would be using them if they thought they could get away with it (well it's probably more than that, but let's pretend for one moment that sport isn't a billion £/$ buisiness and people are doing it just for the love).
And guess what boxing isn't openly doing anything about it, so as far as I'm concerned their are bound to be afew boxers out there using stuff they shouldnt, whether on purpose on or accidently in suplements.
I'm hoping that Pac isn't one of them as that'll blow any chance of a mega fight happening, but if him being openly tested opens the door to more athletes/boxers getting tested then it has to be a good thing.Comment
