I think getting pounded in the head for up to 36 minutes is far more damaging then a fooken arm bar

I think boxing is a more brutal sport than MMA so it makes no sense to ban it anywhere?

I understand the old school Ultimate fighter stuff
that was hard core but the refs in MMA are really good about stopping a fight
    It shouldnt be banned

There no connection to boxing and MMA so the question isn't even legit. MMA is banned in plenty of countries and even in plenty of states. Boxing on the other hand is not banned anywhere I can think of and banning it hasn't really been talked about in nearly 60 or so years. Take for example the state of New York. Boxing has deep roots in the state but MMA has yet to hold an event there and more than likely will never. Sure, maybe a group like this could one day try to get it banned but it just simply will not work. Boxing has too many years put in and has been looked at for a better part of a century as sport instead of simply just "fighting". I think that is the main thing about the banning of MMA, it simply isn't and probably will never be looked at as a sport. Too much blood, kicking, and all too brutal looking.

After Eubank Watson there was a lot of chatter and some people came on shows talking about banning boxing. Then with Benn-McLellelan the same thing. Benn came on TV to discuss it on a few shows and he defended the sport.

The standing 8 count defends boxing. As does the fact that its an Olympic sport.

There may be aspects of various martial arts that are in the Olympics but MMA is not an Olympic sport. I doubt if it ever will be or ever wants to be. you see the way it is sold.

They aren't looking to get IOC recognition there. Boxing has that and is practised worldwide.

You ever heard of an MMA gym in Cuba or Hong Kong?

I think boxing is a big part of the american culture, mostly rooted in it's humble beginnings, as an american art form,...in a round-about way, so i would give boxing a better chance for survival than MMA. And I'm not expressing any preference or dislike for either ufc or mma...just saying...boxing is as american as apple pie.

Then as years went by, other countries started to compete here, and we got this awesome Mexican-PR rivalry that has made the sport so exciting...then even more countries, Africans, Pinoys and many other ethnicities got involved.

Relax, mma is not going to get banned and boxing is not going to get banned, especially when Ontario just started to allow mma(big big step)

these people that are trying to ban mman have no stats and have done zero research. If they had they would find out bull riding(rodeo's) and Cheer leading(i sh#t you not) have more serouis injuries than MMA.
i dont get people that say mma is barbaric, when boxing is actually waaayyy more brutal.

but anyways, it will never happen
