Ricky Hatton would fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a comeback bid
            -May 21, 2010

In a "duh" bit of news, Ricky Hatton says that a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. could get him to come back to the ring. You might think, "Gosh, but Ricky was knocked out the first time around." And you'd be missing the point: a rematch with Mayweather would, despite its obvious flaws as a competitive matchup, do big business. Bigger than anything else Hatton could do.

From the Manchester Evening News, Hatton tried to take it another way:

"He's the one. Even after he beat me I thought he still showed me no respect. I'd like another pop at him if I had my choice."
Ricky Hatton cancels tour dates but is no closer to boxing return
            August 18, 2010
Ricky Hatton has had three dates cancelled by promoters of his An Evening with Ricky Hatton tour, and while their reasons are unclear it is understood the 31-year-old is still no closer to deciding whether he will make a return to boxing.

            ...

Hatton renewed his boxing licence in July, provoking speculation that he would end his hiatus.
