I agree with you bout a rematch,but not the ***** move statement..B-HOP is a living legend he could fight who he wants.Nothing really more to prove for B-HOP rather these young guys have to prove something by beating the living legend no??

I think he can to a degree!, but it seems he is favouring suitable opponent too much whilst trying to keep out the way of people like Dawson, i honestly dont think he would of fought Dawson, had Dawson of won.

We all have our own opinions and Pascal is by no means the best light heavyweight in the world. If Hopkins thought he could have schooled Dawson so easily why did he not take the fight as quickly as he took Pascal? Dawson had been calling him out for years and not a peep from Hopkins. Pascal bruises haven't even healed and Hopkins wants a fight already.

Obviously Hopkins knows who the better fighter is.

It has nothing to do with who the better fighter is. It has everything to do with Pascal having a style that Hopkins himself believes he can have good success against. Chad right now is not the best lt heavy. Pascal is known to be. Hopkins can see Pascals game and thinks he has the style to exploit it. Hopkins also wants a big payday. There is no way Chad's people can pay him. Pascal's people may not be able to either.

I don't subscribe to the notion that just because some of the top fighters in the world don't have a fan base is the reason why other boxers don't want to fight them. In Chad and Hopkins case, Dawson was the champ and still is the best lt. hvyweight out there and Hopkins is a legend. Fight fans will come out to see that fight, it will generate more than the casual fans interest. More people in America would tune in to a Chad/Hopkins than a Hopkins/Pascal fight.

Even though I have the utmost respect for Hopkins, he is picking and choosing who he wants to fight and at this stage of his career and at his age he has all the rights to do so.

He wasn't really thinking of a fighter with a fanbase when he fought Ornelas, was he?

I don't know what would attract more viewers: Hopkins-Pascal or Hopkins-Dawson. Whatever the case he'd get a piece of the gate that favors fighting in Montreal.

Ornelas? That was a homecoming tune-up fight and he donated part of his earnings to charity. Obviously he didn't take that fight to cash in and improve his legacy.

I think he would have thought about it a lil longer then with Pascal fosure..Dawson style is one that will trouble B-HOP(Don't know if he beats B-HOP)but I believe they would have fought..I just don't Hopkins would have been as eager as he is now...

Hopkins for what ever reason didnt fight Dawson (who wouldn't have made him money).

Pascal beats Dawson and now Hopkins wants the guy who just made a name for himself as everyone watched him (Pascal) "beat" the arguable best LHW out there (Dawson).

IF Hopkins at 45 does beat Pascal he will have the LHW title. Dawson could take on Hopkins instead of the rematch clause with Pascal.

IF Dawson where to fight Hopkins and win he could take on a rematch with Pascal with the TITLE at stake again.

We would get to see Hop vs Dawson and Dawson vs Pascal II.

That's a lot of IFs but its plausible and it makes money sense. The drama/media/money will be there for ALL the fights, especially if old man Hop beats ANOTHER young guy again.

The same way they said Floyd Mayweather cherry picked Baldomir (lineal champ at welter) over fighting Margarito paper trinket holder. Also ppl say Manny cherry picked Hatton for his lineal title, Hopkins just plays it safe he waited for a not so technical guy wins the title to be interested in light heavy again lol.

Styles make fights right? So, normally when two fighters are considered to have the same level of sucess the one with the better style is usually considered to be the better fighter, right? If Hopkins saw flaws that he might be able to exploit in Pascal but not Dawson, then who would be considered the best lt. heavyweight? I know that Pascal beat Dawson but I would venture to say that most people would say that Dawson had an off night.

pascal style of fighting is perfect for b.hop.i think hopkins will get the decision.if bhop fought dawson i would pick dawson by decision just because of his fighting style.
