Why dont Boxers ever settle fight purses by who wins?

    Why dont Boxers ever settle fight purses by who wins?

    Like winner gets 60% and loser gets 40% and so on. I always see these disputes about pay so i just wanted to know

    It's because do something like that is not a good "buissness" decision. No other way I can explain it.

      because that would just be ******, course you dont be thinkin you're gonna lose, but if you do you gotta get somethin for your troubles and who knows, might be your last big paycheck

        Less sport and more entertainment nowadays. Enetrtainers get paid before they work. Sucks but it is what it is.

          the reason is because the purse is determined by how much money the two fighters will bring in and since one fighter usually brings in more then he wants to be paid for what he brings in.

                  it does not make sense because then the most popular fighters would not take risky fights because there is no reason for them to.

                    Sounds to me like the sport would do better without a fighter who is too popular to take a 60% win,or a 40% loss,no??
