This is like preaching to the choir man. Of course any real boxing fan would prefer to see a legitimate challenge. But fact of the matter is at least casual fans....mexican fans in particular have heard of margarito and pac wouldnt be pulling all the weight. Casual fans dont know who martinez (who's a fulltime middleweight now i believe and no longer wants to compete at 154) or williams or cintron are.
Shady,I will admit that U are correct, but I just don't agree with the "Punisher or Martinez don't sell crap"!!I refuse to!!Manny neither Floyd are bigger than boxing & I truly believe that even casual fight fans will hear about the Punisher & Martinez & their body of work at 154 & automatically become intrigued with this fight,I really do!!It just isn't right for those 2 divas to think that they can stroll on into other fighters turfs & block them out & make their own bogus matches & sham their way into boxing history as great fighters!!

Didn't Margarito do 12-15K PPV buys against Garcia? Pacquiao vs. Martinez would sell man, especially after what Martinez did to Pavlik. They could really hype this up, everyone would be all over this one.

There is no PPV in Mexico so that argument is invalid.

I think they could definitely sell these fights well if Manny were to fight Williams it would be 'P4P #1' vs. the alleged 'most feared man in the sport'. And if he were to fight Martinez that fight could sell well also just like an earlier poster said the win over Pavlik would be a great selling point and his close fight with Williams. I wish Floyd or Manny would fight either of these two preferably Martinez personally.

              *sigh*

All I'm asking for man. I want to see Martinez, Paul Williams, Mayweather, Pacquiao go at it in any combination. Of course that wont happen

I agree. I would pay to watch Pacquiao if he fought the best fighters. If he fought Mosley I would pay and likewise with Williams and Martinez.

But he's not interested in fighting the best fighters in a weight class. Pacquiao likes to fight damaged opponents at catchweights for vacant belts. When he retires he will say "I won 8 world titles" but really titles don't mean much if you win them against guy's who were KO'd in their last fight. I'd rather see the two best guys just fight each other for no belt than see a guy fight someone who was just KO'd for a belt that doesn't mean anything.

Yes he does, but there are 2 superstar fighters in the sport & they both do that!!They are doing more harm than good in boxing.
