Can someone convince me why I should believe Pacman-Margarito is legit?

No one can, because the only truly legit fight for Pacquiao right now is Floyd. Any fight except that is not going to be truly legit.

nothing guaranteed, if pac wants 22.5m plus ppv sales, that means in reality the other guy will want to earn about 10m at least fighting pac as it will be a 60-40 or 70-30 split if pushing it.

You will need pac to fight someone who he can generate 1m ppv buys, top rank needs about that many buys badly as I would think around 800-900k would cover pacs purse, the guy he is fighting, hbo cut and everything else....

williams has been promoted crap, he hardly has any fans, thats the problem, he is a good fighter but what happens if only 700k or 800k buy the fight? top rank will either make millions in losses or just about break even

I just don't by that,Pacman fighting the Punisher,or Martinez or Angulo will sell majorly,I agree the Punisher doesn't have that much fans,but he is well known to fight fans & unjustly hated & called overrated,so most fight fans would pay to see if Manny can punish the Punisher,there is no doubt in my mind that that fight sells a lot!!

Because he shouldn't even be fighting guys at 154. He should be fighting guys at 140 but no one want to see Pac fight at 140 anymore.

I just don't by that,Pacman fighting the Punisher,or Martinez or Angulo will sell majorly,I agree the Punisher doesn't have that much fans,but he is well known to fight fans & unjustly hated & called overrated,so most fight fans would pay to see if Manny can punish the Punisher,there is no doubt in my mind that that fight sells a lot!!

thinks is margo fight is a disgrace but he has a huge mexican fan base....that means it will sell very well as pac can generate 700k on his own and margo will generate around 200k at least. plus them two put together will generate an extra 100-200k in buys from casual fans

If he's too small for 154,then stay out,don't fight unworthy fighters & call it a championship fight,come on man!!I'll bet my membership that Martinez would have accepted a catchweight just to fight Manny!!Pacman vs any fighter will sell,but vs a real 154 pounder will sell more!!Look how much he sold vs Clottey!!

I am a boxing fan,which includes Pacman,but I just don't by him getting a title at 154 by fighting Margarito at a catchweight!!I've always criticized Floyd for taking the easiest fights possible & avoiding prime elite fighters,so now I feel that Pacman is doing the same!!There are qualified elite fighters at 154,who have been campaining their & are more worthy of a title fight in that weight class,I don't see why Bob Arum can get away with having 2 fighters,neither 1 a champ,fighting for a title when there are more suitable 154 pounders there!!

Miguel Cotto went to 154 & fought & beat a champ,why does a percieved better fighter than he get to fight Margarito for a title in that weight class??I truly believe that a fight with Cintron,Angulo,the Punisher or Martinez,"the European too",does more for his legacy than a cheater who is nothing at 154 ever could!!Please boxing fans,convince why I'm wrong,thank U!!

That's the problem with boxing now, look at Dawson who was fighting grandpa's and was surprise by Pascal speed and power. Floyd is another example, Mosley is way past prime, i don't even recognize him when he's fighting now, he use to be twice as good. What's the point for Floyd to fight that old man... IMO Margarito shouldn't be allowed to boxe anymore. If someone would hurt me in the ring with bricks in his gloves, i would hate that guy for the rest of my life, there is no excuse for that.

As for this whole PAC Floyd thing at the end of the day there both business men, and like it's been mentioned b4 they both fight for the highest reward and lowest risk.
