If you are not cheating....you are not trying.....

That's true but not really on the same level of cheating in the sport. Take for example JMM V Mayweather. Yeah, JMM probably didn't belong in that ring and Mayweather bullied him but JMM knew what he was getting in the ring with, no one forced him. If someone is cheating, no one really knows they are doing so.Comment

So you are telling us that you (and all these other kats who apparently are of the utmost and highest of moral values) have never in your life cut a corner somewhere to get there faster? or to get there at all???No and anyone that supports that theory is just a plain evil person. Even if you felt that it was okay to go about living your life like that, in boxing it is immoral to do. This isn't baseball or some basketball game where we are just trying to one up our opponent and net a few more scores to fatten our contract, this is boxing, a sport that is violent and dangerous. You cheat in boxing, you are not just killing your integrity of a person but you are putting another mans life in extra danger.Comment

That's bull****. Mayweather never bothered to make the agreed upon catchweight and then tried to rework the contract the night before the fight. That's true but not really on the same level of cheating in the sport. It's like essentially having them switch opponents on you at the last minute and telling you.... "oh by the way...you'll actually be fighting this much bigger guy. go get em champ." "oh you dont wanna fight??? then you dont get paid and you have to face all your fans and tell them you were a little ***** and robbed them of their ticket money because you dont wanna fight"Comment

Yea JMM knew and he should be applauded for the balls he showed in getting in the ring, but it doesnt make it any more honorable on Floyds part. I dont see where using god given talent to beat up on lesser fighters is any better than using PEDs to compete with bigger or better fighters. I also wasnt talking about Floyd when I made the comment just boxers in general who are happy to be more talented than everyone else and feel no need to test themselves. That's true but not really on the same level of cheating in the sport. I try to do my best and if I do that I feel that I can accomplish a lot, but yes I am sure there will come a time and possibly has came a time where I did cut a corner or cheated. The thing is I'm not a boxer or putting another mans life in risk. If I was in Margaritos position with the gloves and I knew about it, I would of never did that. No money is worth the possibility of killing someone or adding an extra chance of killing someone.
Yes and that is how I feel about it but still you know what you are up against. Cheating you don't know at all. Both are wrong but cheating is much worse imo. That's bull****. Mayweather never bothered to make the agreed upon catchweight and then tried to rework the contract the night before the fight.

Floyd was just an example, he won't be the first and won't be the last to do something like that. He was just the first person that popped into my head.Yea JMM knew and he should be applauded for the balls he showed in getting in the ring, but it doesnt make it any more honorable on Floyds part. you mean cheating openly is not as bad as cheating discreetly??? or that blackmail and extortion are not as bad steroids or loaded gloves???Comment

I think people get ahead of themselves when they start hyping unproven prospects, but when the veterans do it its even worse. Chavez is a nobody so I dont see the problem with him fighting nobodies and Amir only receives the criticism he does because he seems so good. Kotelnik and Malignaggi are decent wins, but it was obvious both were overmatched.
Thats fine I dont mind the example. I just wanted to clarify.Comment
