Barry Hearn says Haye vs. Harrison talks are "going well"

    http://news.boxrec.com/news/2010/bar...are-going-well

Barry Hearn, head of Audley Harrison's promoters Matchroom, have confirmed that talks for a match between the former Olympic champion and David Haye are taking place.

Not only that, Hearn argues that Harrison is the bigger draw of the two.

"In the heavyweight division, there is nothing else out there as far as British fight fans are concerned, Harrison-Haye is enormous," Hearn told Sky Sports News.

"The fantastic thing about David Haye is that he's burst on the scene and done a fantastic job against Valuev, boxed the ears off Ruiz and put him into retirement.

"Audley Harrison, in my opinion, is a bigger draw. People don't know what to expect from Audley Harrison, he's been talking a great fight for years and never delivered it.

"He's at that last stage saloon - every fight fan in England wants to see this fight.

"I'm not part of these negotiations; my son Eddie is fronting up the discussions. We are in talks, I understand the talks are going reasonably well.

"The fight's going to be amazing. I hope Eddie and Adam Booth (Haye's manager) get this fight together.
So will Haye have ducked Vitali and Wladimir to fight Harrison? We'll know in a week or two.

I think Harrison has a chance vs haye.he's a counterpuncher with an eraser left hand...David can jump in with reckless abandonment & get caught...

You have the right format now, but now you also need to make a new post with it instead of editing the old post.

I for one hope Harrison can land a cracker on Haye. At least Harrison would have the bollocks to fight the K brothers.

Agreed. The statement couldn't be more wrong.

If Haye is not going to fight a Klitschko then he should at least fight somebody who is ranked and well regarded. Tomasz Adamek is a guy who people have wanted to see Haye matched up with for a long time. And Ruslan Chagaev is now his manditory. He could at least get that out of the way so it doesnt get in the way of a potential Haye-Klitschko fight in the future (Assuming he does still want to make that fight at some point).

Audley Harrison isnt even ranked in the Top 10 by most organisations. The reality is that nobody wants this fight to happen other than Audley Harrison. They will try and claim the U.K is up for this fight but that's not the case.

I have two opinions on this subject.

                A) Haye should not be rushing in to fight any Klitschko just yet. He needs to get acclimated to the new weight, and he needs to fight more top 10 guys before he gets in there with the best. Arreola, Peter, Adamek would be great fights for him IMO. He needs to fight some good punchers, and guys generally much bigger than him to get used to the size difference he will face with the Klits.

So I'm ok with him not fighting the Klits right away, I think it's in his best interest to work on his game as a heavyweight. Not really interested in a Audley fight, though...

                B) With that said, he shot himself in the foot with all the trash talk against the Klits. I don't think he's ready, and I think he doesn't even think he's ready. He shouldn't of been running his mouth so much, and then end up doing nothing about it.

Like I said before, it's in his best interest to NOT fight them right away to get used to the new weight and the division... but he shouldn't of been running his mouth for the last two years, only to not do anything.

With all that said, I'm not in the negotiations, and I have never read one of the contracts offered to Haye... none of us know the full truth on what the terms were. Either you believe Klitschko's side, or you believe Haye's side... and realistically both sides could be skewing the full truth of the terms.

Either way, Haye needs more time in the division before I would even be excited about a Haye - Klitschko matchup.

I wasn't impressed with the Ruiz win. Yes he knocked him down multiple times. But, people seem to forget how Haye ACTUALLY looked in the fight just because he stopped Ruiz.

I thought Haye looked extremely sloppy, and extremely fatigued in certain parts of the fight. I couldn't help but to think if he ends up being that lazy against Wlad or Vitali, he is going to get slaughtered.

So to summarize, I'd like to see Haye take at least 3 more fights, while showing improvements before I feel he would be a threat to either Klitschko... Peter, Arreola, and especially Adamek would be great... and again, he shouldn't of ran his mouth so much IMO.

                That's all I got.

I doubt much people care about Haye anymore. He could have tried to make a fight with Adamek, but no, has to be the Ruiz's and Harrisons of the worl.
