I understand the case which can be made for Wlad. I disagree strongly. P4P, were all fighters mythically the same size, he wouldn't sniff the top ten. He's a very good Heavyweight and deserves high praise in that division.
I purely think of P4P as resume based only.

The competition isn't fantastic at heavyweight, but he doesn't lose rounds, and beats prospect/contenders right and left, with no difficulty at all.

Pascal was just mentioned because he beat undefeated Diaconu and now Chad Dawson, who was very highly revered.

      Well it's about fucking time.

If Wlad was American, he would have been put in the Ring Top 10 p4p list a long time ago.

And Wlad deserves to be #3 p4p, not #10.

Being the Heavyweight Champion of the World is the most prestigious title in the sport.

The p4p lists were made as a way to give guys who will never get the most prestigious title a little extra credit and to bring them some attention.

Wlad doesn't need any mythical p4p rankings because he already has the greatest prize that the sport has to offer.

He is a fully grown man, he doesn't need to be on any midget lists to legitimize his accomplishments.

Yes, it makes more sense. Lucian Bute, Vitali Klitschko and Timothy Bradley should be in the Ring top ten p4p too.

Good for Wlad, but there has been a reason that the Super Heavyweights have been usually kept out of the P4P list:

Wlad has a distinct size advantage over his opponents that other boxers on the list simply do not have against theirs.

The mythical P4P list was created to answer the question "If all of the fighters in world were the same size, who would be the best?"

Going back his last 12 fights (since his loss to Brewster) he has had an average advantage of 4 inches in height and 14 pounds (he outweighed Chambers by 35lbs and is 6.5 inches taller than Byrd).

Don't get me wrong. I like Wlad. He is a wonderful athlete with good skills and a big right hand. However, math does not lie. Putting it into perspective, proportionally, his recent string is the same as a 6'1'' 160lb Middleweight fighting 5'10' 151lbers. Not as impressive, is it?

No, two of his last 4 opponents - Rahman and Thompson - WEIGHED MORE THAN HE DID:

                  Thompson
                  Rahman
                  Austin
                  Jefferson
                  Moli
                  McCline
                  Koch
                  Shaheed
                  Purrity
                  Pannell
                  Dixon
                  LaRosa
                  McIntyre
                  Botowamungu
                  Martin x 2
                  Monroe x 2
                  Wolfgramme
                  G. Williamson
                  Maciel

For those 21 fights and a few others Wlad WAS OUTWEIGHED. Frans Botha weighed exactly the same. About ten others were very close to the same weight...

Why does Lennox Lewis never get bashed for being big and tall? He has a reach of 84" compared to Wlad's 81" and his arms are 29.5" compared to Wlad's 26". From seeing them together in Ocean's 11, Wlad and Lennox appear to be the same height, close to 6'6".

Jeez, a little bit touchy, are we?

I am not bashing Wlad. I actually said that I like Wlad, but not to take his size into consideration is unrealistic. I averaged his last 12 fights (which is what the Ring is looking at). You picked 2 of those fights for your rebuttal. Also, considering Rahman as the same size as Wlad is a joke because he was fat, not fit. He weighed 29lbs. more than when he fought Holyfield). Do you honestly believe that if Wlad were the exact same size as Mayweather, Pac, Mosley, JuanMa, JMM and Hopkins that his chin and stamina would hold up?

Regarding Lewis, I never considered him in P4P discussions, rather as being a dominant heavyweight champion, just as I feel Wlad deserves to be.

Very well said. We all know who would win between Wlad and anyone on that P4P list if they got into it. Wlad could take on the entire P4P list at the same time, that's not even an exaggeration.

The P4P list is a populartiy contest with no objective way to measure it.
