Adamek is the only fine win on Dawson's record. Beating 40 year olds just doesn't cut it if that's what you're on about.

It doesn't matter how old they were, only where they were when they fought. Its like floyd and mosley. Was shane 39 yup. But he was also the consensus #1 ww in the world and lineal champ. Were glen johnson and tarver old, yup. were they more respected then anyone wlad has ever beaten? Yes. BTW, i'm sure you saw glenn cloud fight. AT worse, glenn is one of the top 5 or 6 lthwt''s in the world right now.

Part of making the p4p list is who you beat. Obviously its tought o get an accurate account of european opponenets if you don't see them often. Thats why for me, its hard to rank Calzaghe so high because I never saw any of his 1st 30-35 opponenets so its hard to get an accurate measure of their talent. In this respect there is some bias but not to the degree I think Wlad fans say.

I disagree completely with this post ^^^^^

LHW is perhaps the worst division in boxing. The facts that Dawson lost to a guy who lost to Froch and the future of the division in Cloud having to struggle mightily against a 40 year old, says all you need to know.

So now you basically say you cannot give a proper account of Wlad and therefore you cannot rank him that high?

How can you disagree with the post just becaus Pascal lost to froch? You said glenn is 40. But that says nothing about his skills, heart, chin etc. Glenn johnson may just be better than you are giving him credit for. Again, its not about age. Bernard was 45 and beat the **** out of 28 yr old Kelly Pavlik.

Say what you you will about that weight but it is still better than the HWT division right now. The 3rd best HWt in the world got SMOKED by a top 3 LTHWT..

No Calzaghe. I have seen all of Wlad's recent opponents either against him or in other fights. No offense but the best fighter he's faced in the last 5 yrs may have been an out of shape Sam Peter, who knocked him down 3 times.

It's sad but predictable that FF has to spoil what could have been a good thread with silly racist comments.

Wlad fully deserves his spot. and props and congratulations to him, But this statement is ridiculous:

Calzaghe was recently #3, Hatton was recently #8 and has been as high as #4. Tszyu got as high as #3. As FF stated, Lewis got in there, albeit only at the very end of his career.

By definition, it being a Pound for Pound list, it's much harder for a big heavyweight to get in than for the elite fighters of lower weight classes. That's all there is to it.

It's a great achievement that Wlad has got in, reflecting his tremendous improvement in the past few years, his recent recognition (by most) as the lineal world heavyweight champion; and the way he has started to completely dominate talented opponents such as Chambers and Chagaev.

That's all that needed to be said, instead of spoiling it with racist sour g****s.

Holyfield was a small heavyweight and in any case, is now generally regarded as an ATG. Bowe only got in for one year; and Lewis only got in at the very end of his career, after he'd beaten Tyson, despite having had a very long reign at the top. So those examples simply illustrate how incredibly difficult it is for any Heavyweight to get in, and how big an achievement it is that Wlad has broken through. The bitter racist angle of this thread is unwarranted, completely wrong, illogical, and unnecessary.

people say wlads division is **** but should he be placed lower then fighters with many losses to there names and fighters who haven't fought the top 25?

the heavy weight division isn't the only poor division lets admit these days most divisions are crap and the standard of boxing has dropped

wlad at 10th and vitali not in it is a joke
