Bernard could beat him... but he has to actually do it

Jean Pascal has more claim to that than anyone else right now.

Yes Jean Pascal should be the #1 ranked LHW right now. And, I don't think it should even be up for debate.

Ok, then that would put him over Pascal theoretically right? I mean rankings are based on theory many times. They rank fighters in the division #1 sometimes when theyve never even fought there simply because they think that particular fighter is better than everyone else.

            But lets be realistic here...

The last actual light heavyweight he beat that meant anything was Tarver in 06...

That is 4... and a half... years ago.

Then he beat Winky Wright.... at 170 pounds.

            Lost to Calzaghe (a SMW)

Then fought Pavlik........... at 170 pounds,

            Then fought Rico Suave Ornelas...

then a Prime Roy Jones Jr...

Like I said, I'm not hating on the man, he's 45 years old... but he's not the champion.

Jean Pascal is the champ of the division to me, for now.
All true, the LHW division belongs to Pascal for now, there is rematch so maybe it will change but why would you bring BHOP in there, i'm 42 and any boxer who is older than me should be considered old ! lol

Rankings are about what you have done in the division, not about who you would beat theoretically. That's why Chris John is still the #1 featherweight when Gambo and Lopez should both beat him in theory.

No... Which is exactly why he said but he would have to actually do it. Pascal actually beat Dawson.

Depends on the sanctioning organization, Ive seen some put guys as the number one contender to the champ when they normally fought at a lower weight. Like when Hatton fought Floyd, probably politics but still. There are other times also.

                    Pascal beats Hop on activity.

                    12 punches a round versus B-hops 8.

You know like the Taylor fights.

I think Pascal would beat him as well especially after the Roy performance. But Hopkins could pull it out.. So that's I worded it like that.
