Martinez is better than any win Adamek has.
Him being over Cotto? Maybe. Ward? No way in hell. Ward is fighting Dirrell next and will have a tough fight after that. Adamek is fighting Grant. He cant be a Top 10 P4pounder when you're the 4th best heavyweight in a **** division.

As big a Dawson fan that I am, I would for now take him out of the top 10.I cant rank him over Williams or I have to rank Dirrell over Ward. Since I think he beat Froch, Im just going by what happened officially.
Dropping Dawson off the list completely is way to harsh. Hes just not Top 5 material. He didnt even show up and barely tried. None of my Top5 have ever one that. They maybe have lost before but they never just didnt care and showed no passion to get the win like Dawson did.
Seriously Pascal has ability but is very amateurish, Dawson losing to him is humiliating and at this point no way could he be considered among the top 10 best fighters in the world across all weight classes.Comment

I don't like the statement Mayweather moves back up to 1 "when he announces his next fight"
If he fights someone who is as bad or worse than Margarito then I think he should stay at number 2 don't you agree? Also it's a good list, I would put Bute at number 10 since I believe he is on a similar level to Ward seeing as he beat Bika, Andrade, Miranda, Zuniga and Berrio that's a list of the best of the rest at 168. Ward has beaten Miranda, Kessler and Green.
The only fighter that is significantly above any of Bute's wins is Kessler and the amount and style of wins Bute has racked up puts him close to Ward IMO.
Good point on Mayweather but with the rumored King deal Im assuming his opponent will be pretty good.
I like Bute. I would put him in over Wlad but Wlad deserves some love. But Bute at 10 and taking off Cotto also make sense. I have to show the S6 fighters love though because they have the toughest strength of schedule.
Bute's next fight could be against Pascal who I dont think is very good at all.
Wards next 2 fights will be against Dirrell and Froch/Abraham winner.Comment

I said the same thing about Pascal. I dont mean to stick it to the guy but Pascal is not a good fighter IMO. This is a pretty bad loss for Chad.Comment

I like this list, but with a couple changes.1. Manny Pacquiao: He moves up to Number 1 with Floyds inactivity. His 2010 has been a joke so far with Clottey and Marg. He'll be out of this spot when Floyd announces his next fight.
2. Floyd Mayweather: Dropped down due to inactivity. Was off to a great start by being the fighter with boxing's highest rated win by beating Lineal Chap P4P Number 3 Mosley but were now waiting for his next fight.
3. Paul Williams: Been at 3 for a while now. Dawson getting his ass beat and embarrassed did nothing to move him out this spot.
4. Juan Manuel Marquez: Getting old and still whooping ass. His fight was Diaz was surprisingly good. Hes now about to fight Katsidis which is MUCH better than fighting Morales or Hatton. He gets his spot back at 4.
5. Sergio Martinez: Still at 5. I was tempted to put him at 4 over JMM. Has a fight with Paul Williams in November that will have big pound for pound implications. One of these guys will be P4P Number 1 when Floyd and Pac retire.
6. Andre Ward: The favorite to win Boxing's toughest gauntlet the S6. Next fight vs. Dirrell.
7. Chad Dawson: Drops way down to to losing to a fighter as bad as Pascal. Terrible loss.
8. Fernando Montiel: The best fighter in boxings best weight class. He has been on a roll this year and him beating Donaire makes him a lock to be fighter of the year.
9. Miguel Cotto: Won a title at 154 when many didnt think anything was left. He dominated that fight and earned his way back to Boxings elite category.
10. Wladmir Klitschko: I dont rank heavies ever but I would be doing Wlad a disservice by putting Lopez, Donaire, Bradley, Mosley, Hopkins or Cab on this list. So he checks in at Number 10.
Just missed the cut: ( in no particular order) Bute, Dirrell, Calderon, Poonsawat, Cab, Mosley, Bradley, Donaire, Lopez, Alexander, Gamboa, and Wonjongkam.
1. Manny Pacquiao. Doesn't need to be explained.
2. Floyd Mayweather. Interchangeable with Pacquiao, but like you said not fighting enough.
3. Juan Manuel Marquez. I thought the fight with Diaz showed his skills have not declined much if at all. Still probably the best fighter at 135 or 130 if Marquez wanted to fight there.
4. Paul Williams. Little bit of shine lost due to some tough fights over the last year, but the guy is winning and the hopefully eventual fight with Sergio could cement him at number three over Marquez.
5. Chad Dawson. I won't drop him like everyone else is. He had a bad night, he'll get over it, and I would be surprised if it ever happens again.
6. Fernando Montiel. He is on a serious roll, you have to start ranking him up there on these lists.
7. Andre Ward. A little premature maybe to put him here, but he has been the only fighter not tested in a tourney where the best are fighting the best, and his skills warrant a spot.
8. Tim Bradley. Love how versatile he is, he can fight any kind of fight. I feel he is a cut above everyone else in arguably the deepest division in the sport.
9. Sergio Martinez. Putting him high on this list seems wrong to me, if he beats Paul Williams in a rematch I'll think much differently but losing to Williams and beating Pavlik shouldn't get him a top 5 ranking. He should be on the list though.
10. Miguel Cotto. He lost to Manny Pacquiao, no reason to dump him off p4p lists. Another convincing performance against a high quality fighter and we can put him right back in the top 5 or 6.Comment

An impressive rematch win or dominant win over another very good fighter(no one else at LHW) puts him back in the top 10 for me.
I like the fighters in your top 10. I would just switch places of some, though I don't go by official victories because it is after all my list.Comment

Ward is fighting Dirrell, you don't get ranked on account of a fight that is announced. It hasn't taken place it isn't considered.Martinez is better than any win Adamek has.

In the last 2 years:
Ward
-his win over Kessler is better than any 1 Adamek win but doesn't beat him due to the quantity of Adamek's accomplishments.
-Green
-Miranda
Cotto
-Clottey and Foreman, enough said.
Williams
-Rigged Martinez decision, 119-110 means PW was winning no matter what
-Winky coming off a 21 month layoff at 37
-losing to Cintron prior to Cintron pulling a Cintron.
Adamek
- Bell
- Cunningham who was considered #1
- Estrada
- Arreola considered top 5 at the time
* If you're factoring in Ward-Direll then consider that after Grant Adamek will in all likelyhood fight one of the Klychko's before years end.
** Haye having that paper belt (Klychko-Chagaev) doesn't make him better than Adamek. You don't care that PW has no belts and wouldn't rank Cotto ahead of him at 154 i'm sure.Last edited by Mikhnienko; 08-16-2010, 07:38 AM.Comment

Rigged decision...lol. I dont agree with the scores but I agree that Williams won the fight.Ward is fighting Dirrell, you don't get ranked on account of a fight that is announced. It hasn't taken place it isn't considered.

I think Adamek is better off going after Haye. The Klits are just on another level. Maybe Viatli is ripe for a loss but he doesnt stand a chance vs. Wlad.
Im an Adamek fan and hes been putting in work. But it would seem kinda messed up to put the 4th best fighter in a Top 10 P4P List while leaving out Vitali and Haye. I see your points though.Comment
