The way Dawson fought disgusted me. I was in the house yelling at the TV and my wife looked at me said "all that yelling ain't gonna make him win if he don't want to win." Basically she saw what I saw that Dawson was not even going hard and truly trying to win the fight.

What was up with Dawson crouching down on defense getting caught with the same damn punch the whole fight? That made a lot of sense keep going back to what is not working.

ya bending over to his left, why not move his feet, why not throw that check hook in the first round and up not the 8th, why not the uppercut or straight left?

why not punch, why not finish anything up?

Dawson is the more skilled fighter, its obvious. Dawson is the bigger *****, and thats why he lost the fight. If he wasn't afraid of getting hit so much he would have put Pascal on his ass a few times, he also needs to learn how to counter instead of avoiding punches. He leans completely over to his side instead of rolling and countering. He still needs a lot of work (more than I thought) but it all comes down to him seeming to be "babied" in his fights. Essentially he doesn't have the mentality of a fighter which is what you need in fights, at least SOME fights. Floyd will finish of a fighter if given the chance, Dawson NEEDED to finish off this guy and he simply couldn't pull the trigger. That alone is the reason he'll never do much better as a fighter, because without the balls to throw punches to KO you're going to lose fights at some point, and it just happened to him.

the one positive i saw in chad, and i hope this is learned and carried over, is

when he got hurt he got fired up, told pascal lets go and started chasing him down

and throwing some combinations. i believe this was the 10th with a good

11th, although he didnt take out pascal when he could have.


he needs to carry that tenacity he had for 20 seconds throughout an entire fight

Its funny if Floyd fought like that people would say he runs, when someone they like fights like that then its not running? SAD.

yeah really and they act like using footwork is not a part of boxing its not running its using your feet to frustrate your opponents gameplan and set up angles!!!!! (ali, ray leonard, sweet pea) i just dont get it....

He told him to catch him while he was coming in, he told him to take a step to the right when he lunges in and catch him with a check right hook. He also told him to cut off the ring and use combinations from the 8th round on. It was Dawson who chose to fight scared and lost for it.

In the tenth I think. It was the flushest shot Dawson landed and Pascal took it very well. I don't see how people think Dawson will stop hiim in the rematch, he only had him in trouble once and that was due to fatigue more than anything else man.

getting buzzed with that check hook from time to time would have made pascal

reluctant to rush and flurry in, hence giving chad the ability to feint it and

score with combinations.

however, doesnt matter, he wasnt active enough
