I would of rather seen Berto vs. Cotto.....this is not a smart move for Cotto. If he wins he would not gain much props given the kid hasn't been tested yet by a top opponent. If he loses...well he might as well retire. Bad way to follow up a good performance against Foreman.

i agree, if cotto wins and the fight is close, its a failure too. dont matter how good chavezjr is, he hasnt faced nobody on cotto's level. this fight has to be a one sided beatdown.. if cotto loses, i dont think he should retire but its a huge black eye for him. the way i see it, this is a tuneup fight for cotto, the opponent just happens to have a legends last name.

I guess you do not understand. It is precisely because the fight last 11 rounds that I said that Cotto dominated the mayority of round becuase the 1st 6 rounds where his and he did win one in the later rounds. I beleive it was the 9th or 10th.
I did say that he was getting hit a lot but Margarito was getting hit a whole lot more in those 1st 6-8 rounds. By the 8th round Cotto was still in front and hand landed more jabs and power punches tham Margarito.
True that Cotto got hit more than against any other opponent til that fight but he was still wining the fight until the 8th or 9th round on the score cards. The effect of those punches by Margarito (probably with plaster) caught up with Cotto in the last part if the fight.

Santos was a 154/160 fighter with power and couldn't take Foreman down...Cotto took him to school remember!!!Cotto has better and stronger power at 154,sharper jab,and the taller the fighter the more he goes to the body,he didn't go to the body on margarito...he will destroy chavez jr's body..Steward will make sure of that!!Chavez jr intends to get lazy within rounds to breathe,thats a habit...steward will know this and have Cotto jab the **** out of him!!!!
