Is it me because I did not see PAscal dominate Dawson...

I like both fighters. I'm more of a Pascal fan than Dawson. I wanted to see the end of the fight though. Too bad the cut ruined the outcome. It looked like Dawson froze Pascal with the half left uppercut, and like he did all night ...Dawson did not follow up to try to finish. I had the fight very close. Pascal might've been up 6-4 going into the 11th with Dawson winning the 11th to make it 6-5 on my card PAscal. Round 12 was setting up to be a great finish. Damn!!!!!!!!!

If Pascal forgets about Dawson, it will be a shame because I remember Adamek forgot about Cunningham, and we never got to see a rematch(Dawson said he has rematch clause). It could be Karma for Dawson also when he did not give Adamek a rematch(don't know if Adamek had rematch clause). Adamek probably couldn't make 175 again anyway.

Last night's fight was a good, sound technical match. Both showed good chins. Two thinking fighters in there. Pascal is just a tough, quick handed fighter who loves the right lead left hook. Dawson actually showed that he can punch with either hands, but he just can't fight inside. When Dawson attacks, it's a thing of beauty to watch, but then he admires his work a bit too much. Pascal is just skill, heart and guts, and believes he can beat anyone. I like and respect both fighters, and whether they are American or Canadian...these two black men can fight.

I wonder if fans are going to **** on Dawson for being real with Merchant. Merchant just doens't like boxers. Dawson fought his fight, and if what they say is true about his out of the ring problems, it just goes to show how greedy people can ****en be who don't even fight.

I see two future ATG's, I think people underrate their great multi-dimensional skills.

Yeah, where were Calzaghe and Hopkins when Dawson called them out? Calzaghe ran into retirement and Hopkins fought a blown-up Pavlik at a weight he wasn't meant for. And when Dawson was still calling Hopkins out, Hopkins had to fight an even older Roy Jones Jr. than the version Calzaghe slapped to pieces.

The difference between Dawson and Pascal? Dawson has all the skills in the world, but lacks some intangibles. Pascal has much less skill, but does have the intangibles.

I said in another thread that Dawson has all the tools in the world, but he needs his opponents to give him the opportunity to showcase them. He needs that control to be successful. Last nights fight showed he really had no B game against a less overall talented but very game and live opponent who came to win.

To become a great fighter, Dawson will need to find those intangibles. If he does not, he will remain a very good fighter with lost potential.

Pascal does not give any indication of becoming a great fighter either, but he has shown the ability to fight through adversity, adapt to an opponent and stick to a game plan. Sometimes that is all a fighter needs.

Some times fans can't separate fight talk from reality. Because fans don't fight, they can at times take what a guy literally says as **** talk to try to make it seem like that fighter got what was coming to him. Dawson knew that PAscal could fight trust me. In the end, fighters 99% of the time shake hands and respect each other after the fight.

Dawson isnt used to having to come forward, it makes all the difference in the world. Its not much different from Whitaker vs. Hurtado, Pea wasnt winning that fight before the KO either.

Pascal looked like he was clowning him at times due to Dawson's reluctance to initiate offence, but it wasn't domination. More of it was Dawson falling apart and not electing to use his skills which would've made it competitive. There are few things more frustrating than watching a fighter become gunshy.

For real domination, one need look no further than both Pascal-Diaconu fights.

when i first watched it i thought pascal was well ahead and yea, dominating

but on the rewatch it was a real close fight
and on some rounds i completely changed my mind thinkin how i ever gave it to the other guy before
