What seems to be overlooked here is that these promoters, advisers, etc. pony up 20k when these young fighters haven't a pot to piss in nor a window to throw it out of. And it's before the young fighters prove to be earners. It's a high risk investment and the returns are correspondingly high. They have to be. How many times do you think the promoter hands some kid 20 or 30k or whatever the figure is so the kid can focus exclusively on his career and then the kid turns out to be nothing? You think the promoter gets that money back?

Now I'm not sayin' that the business side of the sport is not rife with skullduggery, but there are 2 sides to every story.

Without the promoters we got no fights to watch and the fighters don't get paid at all.

Its been known that Chad Dawson aint the sharpest tool in the shed. He wants to live like a rap star and have big houses and bling bling so what these promoters / leeches do is show him a good time, take him shopping, have his picture taken everywhere and he thinks hes living the high life. Chad lost, move on. It doesn't make him less of a fighter, but don't discredit Pascal for showing up and doing what he had to do to win the fight.
