Why was Chad Dawson fighting scared tonight?

He lloked damn near afraid to fight back during Pascals flurries, and when he would land two nice punches in a row he would back off and get on his bike trying not to get hit back, when he could have tried to take contol of the fight alltoghether. I would have said his fighting heart is in question had he not laid it on the line in the 11th only to stop when Pascal fought back. Well does Dwson have a bullies mentality or what.?

he knew he was fighting a guy that was young, in his prime and can trade with him. he wasnt fighting an old johnson or tarver. he knew he was in for a fight this time around

Thats's what merchant called him out on in his post fight interview. IDK why people hate on merchant. You heard Dawson's answer he was "fighting his fight". Lame

Dawson has been down a few times, most notable was to Adamek. Maybe he is scarred of being countered? But he blew it in ROund 9 when pascal was hurt. HBO talked about him telling his corner that his shoulder was injured. That can be part of an explanation.

I give Pascal his credit, but i thought the fight could have continued, we have seen worse cuts before. Klitschko had a much worse cut against Lewis, both Pac and JMM were badly cut in their rematch. It just gives a bad impression especially whenn Dawson was coming on strong and the doctor stops it for the hometown fighter.

Did you see Pascal's reaction after they stopped it? He was doing backflips like he knocked Dawson out, he must have felt relieved that he didnt have to deal with the last 4 minutes.
