Here's the thing though. You guys bash Hopkins for ducking Dawson and you don't use the analogy that Dawson didn't even beat Tarver as impressively as Hopkins did, but you use the excuse of Dawson not fighting Cloud because Cloud didn't beat Johnson as decisively as Dawson did in the rematch with him. I know a lot of people including myself think Cloud lost against Johnson. But it's still double standards.

First off, you're talking in circles. Secondly, the reason Cloud didn't get a shot at Dawson is nobodies fault but his own. Dawson had a contractual agreement to grant Tarver a rematch, instead of Cloud waiting his turn, he enforced his mandatory and had Dawson stripped. Thus, the fight never happened.

Furthermore, I don't object to a potential Cloud vs. Dawson matchup, I simply have no issue with Dawson pursuing a potential super bout with Bute before handling Cloud. In my opinion, Cloud hasn't proven himself to the point where a Cloud vs. Dawson matchup is as intriguing as a Dawson vs. Bute matchup.

Yeah but the guy in your sig vs Dawson makes my mouth water with excitement. That bout would be high speed chess of the highest caliber. Bute and Dawson probably have the fastest hands in their respective divisions. It would be a great great fight.

Nowhere close. Berto has several stylistic faults (of which I've mentioned a few times) which keep glaring through each time he fights, yet Dawson continues to improve all over and is technically one of the best out there.

The only thing similar about them is the lack of activity.

Don't be silly, Poon. Age means less and less these days, and both of those so-called 'grandpas' were legit former champs at the time of fighting, and highly ranked.

Oh yes it was. Both Tarver fights and the Johnson rematch were near-shutouts if one watches them properly in HD. Domination = winning nearly every round and making the opponent look bad. And that's exactly what happened.

As for the first Johnson fight - well hey, it's not as if the all-amazing Cloud had an easy time last weekend.

It actually ****** imo cuz' he had a couple of dead men in front of him and all he could do is go to decision.

Which means Cloud must suck, too. He couldn't even finish off an older Johnson, and barely sc****d a decision which could've been much closer.

If he is impressive in beating Pascal i.e hurts him, drops him and stops him, then I will give props.

Oh well. Just don't go around claiming that you're somehow clued up on Dawson - or even boxing in general - because an attitude like that doesn't really correspond with being a fan of the sport.
