I was talking about major PPV fights being pushed to the public and not BS fights that are made to keep a fighter active. I thought that was a given but, if you want to be extact than I stand corrected but I though it wasn't even necessary to bring up BS stay busy fights, that aren't being pushed to the public like that. But I stand corrected and revise my statement.

True that! The thing is every Filipino will buy the fight regardless of the opponent and you will also get some Hispanics to buy in as well. I think the fight will do somewhere in the 700K to 1M PPV buys. I mean, Margarito is a bigger name than Clottey (whether you agree Marg should be fighting or not) so this fight will still do pretty well. One way to guarantee my money would to put Nonito Donaire vs. Montiel or Darchinyan on the undercard. I just watched the replay of Donaire vs. Darchinyan and would love to see Vic get KO'd again...

i would expect this fight to generate the kind of PPV that pac/cotto did, in the 850,000 range. and for those people who exagerate the PPV comparison between pac and mayweather...when pac fight, its usually against another non american, so that becames a matchup of two non americans in the U.S.

for mayweather, him being an american fighting in his home country is already an advantage...when he fight a well established american or american mexican, ofcourse the PPV numbers will be better than two non american fighters fighting in the U.S

but anyway, i can see the pac/margarito doing the same kind of PPV numbers as the pac/cotto fight

who is actually going to buy this fight? im more excited for ward-dirrell and the other super six fights. margarito is the perfect fighter for pacquiao. tall, slow, and comes forward. why should i buy a fight in which i already know the outcome

They just anounced the SuperSix for Bantamweight recently. I'm looking forward to that... Other than Donaire and Montiel not fighting in it (not for sure, just going by announcements), should be awesome.

Mosley - 38 years-old and coming off back to back 8 week training camps (Berto) and the longest inactivaty of his career and he was outboxed by Cotto

Marquez - only had 1 fight at 135 and Floyd fights him at 144 and comes in at 146 the same when he fought Mosley

Hatton - only had 1 fight at 147 and was almost KOed and should have lost to Luis Collazo of all people. It to Floyd 10 rounds to do what it took Manny 90 seconds to do and Manny beat Hatton at his natural weight class.

De La Hoya - a split decision win against a guy that lost every big fight of his career not to mention the gift he got against Quartey

OK, I think that Mayweather was on the juice his first 40 fights and that's why he never asked for the test before and now that he is 33 he doesn't need them anymore. Floyd was on the juice his first 40 fights!!!! This is silly and childish and plays right into Mayweather's hands. Fact, Pac has NEVER failed a drug test like Vargas and others... Fact, none of the legends in boxing history took extra test, are they all on the juice?
