Comments Thread For: Dzinziruk vs Mayorga Being Explored For October 2?

Ricardo Mayorga is back on the scene again and this time he is trying to secure a fight against Ukrainian Sergiy Dzinziruk, current junior middleweight champion of the WBO, for a date of October 2. The rumored opponent for Dzinziruk was Luis Collazo, who recently said he was not interested in accepting the fight at this time and needed a tuneup or two.

It all depends on what Mayorga shows up....it will be an entertaining loss or a boring loss...both for Mayorga.

Mayorga is a more famous opponent than Collazo and the fight will be more entertaining.

Of course I would prefer Martinez, Angulo, Williams, or Cotto for Dzinziruk, but Mayorga is a better choice than Collazo.

Everyone wants to recycle Mayorga. As soon as he heard this guy last name he just won't train thinking he's a nobody.

I thought Mayorga was jumping to MMA, did that happen?

Don King stopped the fight for contractual reasons.

                  Mayorga? Give me a break.

Dzinziruk needs to face a live body at some point, he's 34 years old and the clock is ticking.

I am not sure, at this point, why Dzinziruk ever left Universum. Universum was good at giving him long months of inactivity and then putting him with ****ty opponents. How has his life changed? At least with Universum he would have gotten a big paycheck in Germany for beating up old-man Mayorga. Doubt he'll make as much for this fraud of a title defense in the U.S.
