They were actually pushing for Tyson, but the fight never came through. Roy mentions him here:

Without question Jones had the speed and power to avoid Lennox' jab (which is one of the worst jabs of all the supersize heavies) and catch him off guard right on the chin.

Jones wins the fight and has a high probability of actually knocking Lewis out.

Nobody on Lewis' resume is as good as Jones. Vitali is his greatest ever win and that was due to a premature stoppage due to a cut. Let's not forget even though the fans were robbed of that fight, Lewis refused to rematch Vitali once again spitting in the face of the boxing world.
hahah what a ******,no wonder you are in the red,its where idiots like you should be

              Last time I checked:
              Lennox Lewis right hand>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Antonio Tarver's
              Mike Tyson's power>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Antonio Tarver's

Roy knew what was up which is why he took on one of the worst HW champ in the history of the sport, and immediately went back down.

No offense but how is being put into a coma a win win situation?

Just looked at those Rights Lennox landed on Vitali. What makes you think Roy could hold up to those, especially considering he how brutal his knockout to Antonio Tarver was?

Too good, too long, too much power. Roy wouldnt have made it past the 5th round. I would say earlier, but back then Roy hadnt had his chin cracked and Lennox may not have went for the kill right away. I think he takes a couple rounds to test Roy before putting him out cold.
At least Ricky was breathing, whereas I questioned if Roy was still alive after that Tarver KO...lol

I can't even imagine what Roy would look like after Lennox landed that huge right hand.

So are you saying Lennox ducked Roy? There is more to that story than what Roy is telling us. He probably asked him after he retired. No offense but Roy was great at pulling stuff like that.....ask Bernard.
