    How good was Antonio Tarver?

How good was Tarver? The win over Roy gets discredited by many because of Jones performances after their fights but in light of Glenn Johnsons recent performance against Cloud and his performance against the top 10 p4p Dawson in their first fight does Tarver start to look a little better being that he fought a fresher version of Glenncoffe?

Tarver got outclassed both times against Dawson. I scored each bout 9-3, I have no idea why people think those fights were remotely close.

But Tarver was a very, very good LHW. He's tough, he can punch, and he makes almost everyone look worse than they usually do. He had some god wins, and people forget that he turned pro very late in his career.

He was very good when he was at his best, as fast as slightly past prime Roy, a good puncher, excellent by the book technique.

I don't think his future move to HW is as bad an idea as some, ppl need to keep in mind that most top LHWs do not weigh 175 walking around and Tarver is probably the same size if not bigger than Chambers.

Be nice to see him against a "test the waters" HW the maybe a real threat if he looks good.

He had one of the best chins ever. Lost 6 times but was never badly hurt. Dawson and Hopkins knocked him down but one of those glove knock downs where your gloves touch the canvas.

I'd like to see him go up to HW like he said he's gonna do. He called out the Klitschkos not too long ago this year on Showtime in the last Super 6 fight.

He was a very very good 175 Pounder. A left hand from hell.

You mean he started his career very late? Or do you mean he turned pro very late in his whole career including his amateur days?

People forget...he only has like 33 fights or whatever and he's over 40.

i think Tarver gets too much hate for losing to Bernard Hopkins. Hopkins knows how to spoil styles and that is what makes him soo good. Tarver in my opinion is one of the best at Light Heavy.
