Instead of Wright, he could have fought Rubio, Mundine, Sturm, Sylvester....since he wasn't quite at the stage to warrant HBO paying out for a Pavlik match.

Instead of Phillips, he could have fought Dzinzuruk since you are so hype on him today..he was like 36-0 at that point in early 2009 since they both fought around the same time in 2008. He could have fought Bundrage or Powell or if he was even man enough...james Kirkland.

Goodness. This site is so hypocritical. Now instead of a challenge people are looking out for Sergios pockets?

But If Paul tries to go after a Mayweather or a Pacquio for some cash hes a bitch?

      You're part of the reason.

Burner how can you expect to have a serious boxing discussion when you start a thread like this.

I mean you have to know how ridiculous it is to say all of those guys fight a like and accuse Sergio of cherry picking?

Dawg you get what you give out. If you start b.s. topics don't expect to get serious replies. To be honest, no one even ripped you for this, and actually tried to explain to you why your statements were wrong.

A poster who starts off his first sentence with "****** ass" when I didnt call anyone here out of their name and just talked boxing will get dismissed every time.

Like I said When will Martinez step out of his comfort zone and fight in a scrap where the style clash isnt heavily leaning in his favor?

        Like that Williams guy does.

          Hey boxrec warrior.

Williams was actively seeking fights with Cotto, Mayweather, Margarito, Berto, Cintron, Hopkins and Calzaghe at that time.

Williams, Pavlik, Angulo, and Margarito are not challanges? They have won more than 7 titles between the 4 of them and 2 of them have spent long stretches of time on the top PFP lists and some meat head from some soviet bloc country is the bigger challange?

How? Just because you say he's better that makes him better?

yeah and 75% of those fights were wishful thinking at best.

Okay I missed that part of his reply. With that said, he has stepped out of his comfort zone twice and fought the style that would give him to most problems. The way to beat Martinez is with pressure, and not standing on the outside trying to outbox him.

Your reaching hard with those comments. I know you will never tell me but I might as well ask; What's the real reason you are starting a thread like this? If I had to guess it would be that you are tired of Williams getting called a b1tch for wanted to fight WW's instead of other MW's and JWW's.

Im referring to people like you who say "why should he fight some euro for no money".

That euro just happens to be a solid fighter and the longest reigning champ at 154 Pounds and he has some tools that can give Sergio problems.

But instead his fans want him to line his pockets because hes "35". Newsflash I dont know when you started following him but he looks to be in his prime. He started boxing late and is now at his peak. Calzaghe was 36 and leading boxing in workrate. His age is no excuse.

Dude your question has as much logic as the question Why does Williams only want to fight shorter fighters than him?

Pressure makes it to easy to counter. Even in defeat you could see that. Which is why I wanted him to fight Floyd because I know Floyd will make him think with his jab, speed and defense.

Has nothing to do with Wlliams at WW. I mean the guy's only loss came at 147 Pounds. So thats a moot and laughable point.

The point is why does he skip over a certain style and jump at the bit at guys like Pavlik, Angulo, Willams and Margarito.

Why did he act like Dzinziruk was some bum of the contender show. And why did none of his fans hold him tot he fire. Thats my beef.
