Yeah man, I thought Yoel Judah was workin' his cornerThe Saint Louis boxing heads have been saying this, myself included. I thought the same thing for Cory when he became the undisputed Champ. But Cunningham is like his pop, he's been training him since he was seven years old.
However, I just heard that after the fight Saturday night, Floyd went to the Loft (a nightclub here) and the word is, he is trying to get Devon to join his team and camp.
Man, I would love to know what Devon's training consists of. I think he's doing something too excessive. He's too tense, too stiff. He might need to cut back on whatever he is doing, like loosen up a little bit, swim and stretch a lot.Comment

The funny thing is that of the three punchers he's been in the ring with, two of them dropped him, and two of them clinched for 12 rounds once they felt his power and didn't even fight. I didn't see much of the Bailey fight aside from highlights, so who knows, he probably clinched too lolComment

I saw that, too when I was watching it live. Alexander was doing a number on him and somewhere in the 5th or 6th round Urango started getting to Alexander before that huge uppercut connected.I'm calling him a bum for dramatic effect.
I only saw him in the Urango fight and I thought that his defense was suspect then considering Urango started to come on and figure him out.
You know your defense sucks when Urango starts to "figure" you out. Nothing against him cuz' he can punch like a mule, but he's not exactly the most cerebral fighter.
The fight with Kotelnik was no different. Alexander looked bad against Kotelnik, but I wouldn't go as far as to calling him a bum. I've never seen him as the best of the jnr welters, I've been a fan of Bradley ever since his Holt victory, though I've been watching him since Witter.Comment

yep bailey dropped him hard...and like you said, berto and hatton wanted nothing to do with those looping hooks and barely threw anything with intent....not saying urango's chin is bad, but its not iron......also, his power really isnt all that if you smother him......arnaoutis stayed with him punching and he aint exactly tough........kendall holt had arnaoutis in shock and fear with his punches....The funny thing is that of the three punchers he's been in the ring with, two of them dropped him, and two of them clinched for 12 rounds once they felt his power and didn't even fight. I didn't see much of the Bailey fight aside from highlights, so who knows, he probably clinched too lolComment

Truth. People were led to believe that Alexander is a monster puncher. He's got pop, but that uppercut was more timing than power.Urango walked through Alexander's shots too. He didn't knock him out because he's a big puncher. He knocked him out because it was a perfectly timed punch, and Urango landed right on top of it. Cunningham worked the entire training camp around setting that uppercut up.
But overall he's not a big puncher at all. He's never brutally beaten up a fighter, bloodied/swollen up their face, etc. He's a bigger puncher than Bradley for sure, but not by a huge amount. Guys like Khan, Ortiz and Maidana hit much harder. The only guy I've seen him stagger more than once was Witter, but Witter is probably the most clumsy, reckless, etc. fighter I've ever seen, and that stoppage was not because he was hurt. They stopped it because of hand trauma. He certainly would have had a chance to go the distance if not for that. Plus even "Malignaggi powered Bradley" staggered Witter and also dropped him, so that doesn't say very much.Comment
