Zabby over Alexander by k.o

Knock outs don't always indicate who the better puncher is. Alexander could very well be a better finisher or have more of that killer instinct, but I don't view him as a better puncher then Bradley. Take Kendall Holt for example, he has about 11 K.Os (Can't remember) and you could say him and Bailey are the best punchers at 140 (Although I think Holt is a WW now).Comment

Yeah, but Kendall Holt doesn't lay down.Knock outs don't always indicate who the better puncher is. Man you are slipping. bradley as big a puncher as Alexander now. Bradley only throws looping haymakers and none do damage. he hit Holt with everything he had and couldn't even hurt the guy with the weakest chin in the division. He landed many shots that were set up like Alexanders shot on Urango. Bradley has no power other than buzzing power than keeps your opponents from disrespecting you.Knock outs don't always indicate who the better puncher is. Backyard "tricycle drivers" don't count. I've seen Paulie Malignaggi bloody up backyard bums. Against quality opponents or veterans that have stood in front of him like Corley and Rodriguez, he hasn't done anything like that. And I've been watching him for much longer than most of these guys have. I'm still the only one who actually saw him get dropped in the first round. In fact every time people ask me which fight it was, I refuse to say it because I want them to find it themselves since their such huge fans of him.Last edited by BoxerDood; 08-10-2010, 10:12 AM.Comment

In the bold, couldn't have said it better.Urango walked through Alexander's shots too. He didn't knock him out because he's a big puncher. He knocked him out because it was a perfectly timed punch, and Urango landed right on top of it. Cunningham worked the entire training camp around setting that uppercut up.
But overall he's not a big puncher at all. He's never brutally beaten up a fighter, bloodied/swollen up their face, etc. He's a bigger puncher than Bradley for sure, but not by a huge amount. Guys like Khan, Ortiz and Maidana hit much harder. The only guy I've seen him stagger more than once was Witter, but Witter is probably the most clumsy, reckless, etc. fighter I've ever seen, and that stoppage was not because he was hurt. They stopped it because of hand trauma. He certainly would have had a chance to go the distance if not for that. Plus even "Malignaggi powered Bradley" staggered Witter and also dropped him, so that doesn't say very much.
Now as I said, Alexander is very talented, desciplined and determined in facing the best. But he may very well need a new trainer. I especially didn't like how Cunningham was talkin' Bradley all the while Kotelnik was in front of them. That was very unprofessional, especially as a trainer. Sometimes fighters need to understand what their opponents are fighting for, Alexander's IBF and WBC titles were at stack. That's motivating enough to bring the best out of anybody.Comment

The Saint Louis boxing heads have been saying this, myself included. I thought the same thing for Cory when he became the undisputed Champ. But Cunningham is like his pop, he's been training him since he was seven years old.In the bold, couldn't have said it better.

However, I just heard that after the fight Saturday night, Floyd went to the Loft (a nightclub here) and the word is, he is trying to get Devon to join his team and camp.Comment

Alexander is constantly pawing with his punches, Bradley's punches have more of an impact. It's surprising that you would say that, Bradley has hurt most of his opponents.Man you are slipping. bradley as big a puncher as Alexander now. ben rabah hurt urango a lot, and kicked his ass easily(got robbed), arnaoutis also hurt him....all the people who thought urango had an iron chin are just basing that of Max Kellermans commentary......How can you knock out Urango who walked through Bertos shots and not be considered a puncher. All I am waiting is for you to say somethign ****** like Bradley hits harder or as hard. Let Alexander get a solid shot in and you're on shaky legs.
As for Dap, f u, Alexander will bounce back, it isn't like he got brutaly KOed by a 40 year old man.Comment
