that would be an interesting fight, Ortiz might be ready for Tim Bradley but what does anohter loss do to him at this point in his career. He needs to fight someone worth with some merit that will prepare him for the movement and hand speed of Bradley!!

lol, he did say some dumb stuff about retiring or sumtin..... but he doesnt come across as the best of talkers, another thing that keeps botherin me about him is he keeps bringing up his life story about being an orphan, ok i heard it like 10 time get over it now.......if he didnt say that stuff after the maidana fight, he would have been back against better opposition then he has been lately....

Too early for Ortiz. Of all the JWWs, he's the least ready. He needs to at least get a career defining win before he steps to any of the top 3 JWWs, and fighting Vivian Harris at this point in his career certainly isn't a career defining win. Campbell could have been if he destroyed him, but he just did what he had to do and cruised to a lopsided decision.

Bradley's team claim that they've tried to fight Ortiz in the past without success, so I'm not so sure VO would go for that fight. Maybe Tim's people aren't being honest about things, but Ortiz seems to be rebuilding rather slowly since the Maidana fight, it doesn't seem like he(/his handlers) are all that keen for him to fight the top guys just yet.

I remember, prior to Khan-Kotelnik, it was originally going to be Ortiz-Kotelnik for the belt. I think that's a perfect fight to do now.

Your thread title says he is the mandatory, he isn't, and just because he's number one doesn't mean he'll become the mandatory.

            Edited this misleading title.

              Recent Interview from boxing talk

TB: Well, you know they have been talking about Khan, but you know dang well they are not going to send Amir Khan my way, not right now. You have a fighter like Zab Judah who had a good comeback fight, who would be willing to fight me, there are still some good names out there, Victor Ortiz is probably going to be my mandatory. There are a lot of good fights out there, but I don’t know man, I am unsure what is going to happen. Personally, if everything goes like I think it is going to happen the Alexander fight will happen, but I still think it is to early for Alexander, he is still to immature. Especially with him coming off a fight like his last fight, I dominate my fights.

Bradley-Ortiz? A fight i'd def want to see. Let's see what Ortiz really has and what Bradley can do to stop him. I think 140 is going to be straight poppin 2011. Look at the possiblities...at the end of year we could have a legit 140 king.

Yeah it says probably will become mandatory, not IS his mandatory. He titled the thread ORTIZ IS BRADLEYS MANDATORY. You're coming into this after I already edited the title, understand?

I'd love Vicious Vic to beat Textbook Timmy.

Ortiz does need some bigger wins though.

I don't see Ortiz being able to handle Bradley's swarming style & high punch output at all!!I just picture him wanting to retreat & Quitting because he can't get any breathing room in there!!
