It is completely different styles kotelnik was short and slower hand speed so he had to walk in there covered up to be able to exchange, while khan is about 5'10 and much quicker hands.
Imo the problem wasnt completely kotelniks style but mostly alexanders tendency to keep his hands low after combos and as he was going back.
I just people put way too much emphasis on Khans chin acting like if he gets hit with any power at all he will be knocked out.

...Have him fight Alexander immediately before he makes enough improvements to his game to be really dangerous to Khan's chin. With that under his belt he'll be able to say he fought a "puncher" (notice the quotation marks,pls). Then he only needs 3 more fights to make 2 years. Say...Katsidis, then give Kotelnik a rematch and then (when he's 38-39) Marquez.
