It might be considered Boxing Blasphemy to say this, to speak of something sacred in a forbidden manner, but Bernard ‘The Executioner’ Hopkins might be among if not the greatest boxing champion in the history of the sport. Yes, right there with Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Salvador Sanchez, Henry Armstrong.

21 defenses. The finest performance of his career at the age of 43 which was not only a virtual shutout but a perfect game no-hitter. Said the budding superstar Pavlik after the defeat, “I felt like a sub-novice fighter tonight.”

Only wizards and all-time legends could do that to a top champion. Bernard Hopkins is a wizard, a magician, a living legend, or even more. During the match you could hear comments decorating the Convention Hall atmosphere, THIS IS A MASTERPIECE! …Bernard Hopkins is an artist! … Bernard’s unbelievable… We’re gonna call Bernard Ghostbusters.”

jones jr. vs hopkins would have been great when there rematch fight was organized earlier enough. Not like what happened were in they are old and i admit it was kind boring to watch.

honestly i know hopkins is a great fighter but he bores the pants off me

not one time have i seen an exciting hopkins fight the schooling he gave pavlik and trinidad stands out but most times his fights are a snore fest

he was also fortunate that the middleweight division wasn't about **** i honestly think had he been in a different era there is no way he dominates like he did

still a great fighter mind you prime jones beats him all day everyday though hopkins knows it

Pretty much how I see it with B-Hop. Greath fighter in his time but not enough there to consider him in an ATG list....

                  Yea he is quite smart.

He won't fight in Europe because how shifty the fight was for Roy Jones was in Australia.

                    No offence caused.

Lol, seriously. Believe me, I live in redneck town in Florida, you'd be surprised how many people do look at it that way.

Hopkins is a legend, and one of those fighters that in his prime very few boxers could beat convincingly. I do wish he retire though, he's close to being an unfortunate sideshow like Roy Jones is.
