Only problem with it is it gives NSB posters more validity when they say it. When fighters try to down talk another fighter and their accomplishments its just fuel for the haters and since it came from another pro boxer they view it as fact.

      It happens, especially in Boxing.

I remember from personal experience hating on Cotto after how Chop Chop got robbed in PR. I was telling people Cotto was exposed and the whole 9. But once his career really took off, I found more respect for the dude and realized, "What's there to be mad at?". I think it shows more out of a fighter digging deep to get the win than to just wipe the floor with a 2nd rate fighter (which Kotelnik is not). Though I had Kotelnik winning the fight 115-113, I still gave Alexander props for not folding under the pressure. He kept fighting.

Thats the thing Larry. It wasn't close.

Alexander was competitive for 3 rounds, but then after that got constantly tagged by jabs and right hands. He looked lost in there, and his lack of defense and head movement was exposed.

It's even worse that Alexander was supposed to dominate Kotelnik but instead he had to get a gift decision to win.

I will admit that Kotelnik is better than what people give him credit for but the fact that Devon couldn't be competitive with him for 12 shows he's not ready for the top of the division.

Co-Sign Larry...."exposed" is such a ugly word, especially in a profession such as boxing...I definately thought that Kotelnik won the fight, based on cleaner punching, effectively stalking Devon and landing at a higher %.

Devon wasn't exposed....how can you be "exposed" only 20 something fights into your career? Devon is still one of the most promising fighters in the game today, along with Bradley, Khan and the rest of the cream of the 140lb division. Devon showed his "weakesses" along with Bradley in their last fights...haters hate...that's when you know that you're doing good in life.

It wasnt really that close to me. You can tell who was clearly winning, by looking at the body language between the two fighters, and how each corner was talking to their fighter.

With that said, Alexander is still learning. By no means was he exposed. Kotelnik could be the kind of guy that will always give Alexander fits. How he did against Kotelnik really doesnt tell me who would win between bradley and alexander. Two completely different types of fights.

Alexander was exposed by Kotelnik because

              1. Kotelnik is a former world champion had not fought for over a year

              2. Kotelnik faught Alexander in his hometown

              3. Kotelniks first fight in the USA

Dispite all of the above I felt Kotelnik won. Alexander was just a hypejob.

Also Khan beat Kotelnik every round when Kotelnik was a reigning world champion, Alexander couldnt beat Kotelnik on the slide, In his own hometown.

              Kotelnik got robbed.

Maybe because Devon was like a 9-1 favorite coming to the fight... a lot of people made that mistake...

People didn't take that into consideration before the fight especially when you consider Alexander was a 9 to 1 favourite.

What pissed me off is Kotelnik did what so many fans state what boxing is all about "hit and not get hit"

And he still lost the fight by a wide margin, and if Alexander lost he would have been a bum when Kotelnik is clearly in the elite at 140. I hate the way a tough fight or a loss is the end of a fighter and his marketability.
