Devon's POTENTIAL UPSIDE & TALENT got EXPOSED BIG TIME

I thought Devon was secretly the most talented & had the most potential for greatness out of all the 140 pounders. His ceiling is not as high as i thought.

I thought he failed the step to next level big time vs kotelnik. His potential ceiling for greatness got exposed big time. He was hurt several times & if kotelnik just pushed a little bit harder he could have knocked out a clearly gassed & on his last leg alexander.

I thought it was a draw at the very least. What's disturbing if you are a devon supporter is how much trouble he had vs kotelnik. Most boxers who have been anointed as the next great fighter usually pass the gatekeeper/former champion/ contender test. Devon failed that test big time.

Khan & bradley both beat him.

MEMO TO JULIE LEDERMAN: Its time to put harold in diapers in a nursing home. His scorecard was a freaking swindle.

A lot of people were also ignorant to how crafty and good Kotelnik really is.

if he was on his way to a great fighter, he should have beaten the kotelnik level type fighter test. his ceiling is not very high no ceilings.

his potential got exposed big time. he's not as dynamic as i thought he was.

yeah Devon should go ahead and retire, this one fight RUINED your career he will NEVER be able to bounce back from this like other great fighters have bounced back from a poor performance in the past like many great fighters who had controversial wins in the past, he can never improve even though he is only 23, so just retire Devon...lol

I will bump up all of these thread when Devon proves all these clueless boxing fans wrong lol

                  let's not get carried away.

First off kotelnik is a great fighter. People tend to forget this because he lost to Khan fairly easily, but let us remember he's the only man to have beaten Maidina.

Secondly, this was Devon's first big test on a big stage like that. He's young & inexperienced. That may have played apart, especially considering they were already looking at Bradley, even had pre-made t-shirts that said bring on Bradley.

Third, like Burner said styles make fights. Just because fighter A struggles with fighter B doesn't mean he's going to lose against fighters C & D etc.

I think in reality what this does is shows that Alexander is not invincible and he still has much room for improvement. But the positive thing again is he's only 23 years old, he has a lot of time before he even hits his prime.

At the same time kotelnik deserves mad props and should be mentioned as one of the top guys at 140, instead of constantly being overlooked and rarely ever mentioned. Like I said he's a great fighter.

My dvr recording cut out at the beginning of the 11th so I didn't see the last 2 rounds, but up to that point I had Kotelnik up pretty comfortably.
