Vargas doesn't have what it takes to hold Mayorga off over much of the fight.
Fernie will start taking more of those unpredictable Mayorga bombs as the fight goes on...& he doesn't have the beard to hold up to them.

Agreed! I thought Vargas looked horrible against Joval, there were a lot of fighters out there that would have kicked Nando's ass that night.

Nando got rat****ed into thinking he was going to get a shot at a paper champ and grab a quick belt...he would never have gone after the paper belt had he of known it would really lead to Mayorga for the belt so early in in his comeback.

If I was his people I would try and find some way out of the fight with Mayorga, if he is going to try and turn into a boxer in the second half of his career fighting Mayorga so soon in this transition is not going to be productive!

I'll have to see how Vargas looks versus Castillejo before I make a prediction cuz he didn't look good in his last fight. Vargas will definately have to box well and not get caught up in a war he can't win. If this fight can happen this year... what a friggin great boxing year we've been having!

i pick mayorga if this fight ever happens i think vargas is shot as a fighter he was never the same after the beating that tito gave him then dlh gave him another he looked horrible in his last fight also i don't think his pride will let him box against mayorga, mayorga would talk so much **** prior to this fight that varga's pride will lead him to brawl against mayorga which is why mayorga wins by k.o

Vargas chin is no more questionable than Titos & Mayo couldn't do **** to him. It all depends if the Vargas of a couple years ago comes to fight. If he does Mayorgas crazy looping punche will allow Vargas to beat him to the punch with crisp rights & short left hooks. If its the Vargas of old it will be entertaining but will be a UD or late stoppage for Vargas.

Mayo is anything but crippled. I bet he is better now than ever. Been training hella hard, no drinking, no smoking. He said that the only thing that the Trinidad fight did was bruise his heart, but otherwise he didn't even get stitches.
