Small correction buddy, he was a 9-1 favorite and not 9-2 but you are right about Don King dirty mofo, except he had the judges in his pocket, he didn't drug his boy, that's ridiculous. Kotelnik was robbed plain and simple and Kotelnik is world class - silver medalist, world champion, it's Alexander who got knocked out from the Olympics before he even got there by one of his country mates. Kotelnik doesn't have power but his skills are superb, he is a 32 year old dude with a 30% KO ratio who just got robbed by two 23 year olds with 70% and 65% KO ratios.

for starters u socre fights by rounds. it seems that everyon here thinks what happens in one round carries over to the other. alexander diminated the early rounds and had a few good performances mixed in in the later rounds. koltenik was more dominant towards the end but even then, a lot of those rounds could have gone either way. koltenik didnt let his hands go when he had the chance. blame him for not winning, not the judges. and finally koltenik did not land more, i dunno y ppl keep sayin that.Comment

Seriously, until you see the fight, you got no business talking, cause it's all hyperbole at that point. Watch the fight and then come on here and post your opinions about it. Kotelnik was robbed, plain and simple.Comment

I don't call everything a robbery but THIS was a robbery!
Just sickening. Did Don King pay off Harold Lederman as well?
Max and Bob Papas sounded uncomfortable all night like they knew the fix was in.Comment

Totally robbed. That is just horrific. I guess Ross Greenburg has it in for Ukrainians?Comment

Lesson to all Eastern European boxers - When you come to the US, you have got to knock those mofos out Pirog or Klitschkos style or you aren't getting the decision from these crooked hometown judges. Wow, 3 US judges for a championship fight in the US, in the guy's hometown!!! At least when the fight is in Germany, every championship fight has at least one US judge if there is a US fighter.
Another lessson - forget about getting interviewed after the fight by HBO, you can win like Pirog or you can get robbed like Kotelnik, you aren't getting interviewed!!!!Comment

I wouldn't call this a robbery I thought 7-5 in favor of Alexander was the right score. I had him winning 3 of the first 4 rounds. Kotelnik landed flusher punches but he was not busy enough. Alexander slipped some punches real nasty also and Kotelnik would fly off balance. Kotelnik won some rounds big and in those rounds there was a huge disparity in punches landed. That's y he landed more overall. I just didn't think he was busy enough overall and I knew Alexander was getting the decision. I never pay attention to the Lederman card because he gets it wrong alot and 117-111 was a bit wide. Alexander controlled enough of the rounds with movement and was aggressive. I thought he won the last round and that gave him the edge in my eyes. I don't think he would beat Bradley and it wouldn't be smart to fight him next, but I still think he beats Khan. He had an off night but I say it was the nerves of fighting in front of his hometown. Khan will not hit him that much, we knew Kotelnik had a style that would give Devon problems at this stage in his career. I would love to see him fight Zab Judah next. Now that would be a hell of a fight! Bring that on next!Comment

Bob Papas KNEW who was winning while Max the mouth was spilling HBO phoney crap building up a fighter, then had to eat his words, but Papas KNEW and he was telling it all along.

This wasn't a close fight. Everyone on that arena, except for Lederman and the judges, knew Kotelnik won. The fans weren't cheering, Pappa and Kellerman were basically saying how they disagreed with Lederman, and even Cunningham was sounding desperate.
Yes, Alexander threw more. That was the only thing he did better than Kotelnik. Kotelnik landed better punches, kotelnik assumed control of the fight after the 4th round or so. Alexander didn't have an answer for him. It was a robbery. This was as predictable as the first Diaz/Malignaggi: we all knew Kotelnik needed to KO him and that wasn't going to happen.Comment
