The posters who mindlessly keep repeating the cant phrase :he's just more athletic and that's it"...etc.etc. ad crapolatum, just don't know boxing, or are very biased and short-sighted.
Yes, Jones was/is incredibly talented athletically, but there has never been a single moment in his career, up to AT LEAST the moment he was socked on the jaw by a closed eyed Tarver, and even afterwards, when Jones could not, at ANY time, have reproduced the slower, more lethargic, standard moves of any Mayweather model you can think of. He was just far more sparkling, fizzing over with all sorts of excess energy, and naturally had to show it off. I'd even venture to say that Hector "Macho" Camacho, in his earlier days, would have boxed rings around the very best Mayweather ever. His natural talent AND athleticism surpassed ol' fishmouth Mayweather by a large margin- {{but we are only talking of Jones here}}
I speak French so if you're trying to insult me... it's not working, i don't even understand that ! Do you understand this: Té rien qu'un ostie de sac de marde ! are you hurt ?

Jones HANDS DOWN.
dude, u didnt offer anything thst shows who was more skilled. roy jones was extremely athletic, but its a fact that his athleticism let him get away with a lot in the ring. when it left him, he faded fast. floyd is still one of the top fighters in the world nd his athletic abilities are nowhere near what they were. that tells u sumthing.

No, he didn't fade fast because his athleticism left him. What left him were his senses due to that KO by Tarver. Up to that very second he was still just as superb as he always had been. And he was well into his mid 30's by then, when other fighters would have slowed, and been on the downward slide. As you know, he was still showing the old RJ in spots in his later fights, but his CONFIDENCE had left him, never mind his bragging about "Ya'all musta' forgot" etc.
If you watch his performances, because that's what they were really, you can see that he threw every punch in the book, and a few more he invented as the moment needed. Even in close infighting, he was able to deflect, and avoid by pure skill and, of course reflexes, almost all blows. The fact that he had superhuman reflexes and athleticism should not detract from his so obvious great skills. He didn't do the same thing all the time, like the well schooled fighter, such as Mayweather, he inovated constantly, according to the need, and, it looks like, as he felt inclined, and so obviously played with his opponents in a way never before seen, except perhaps to some degree with Jack Johnson.
It's subjective as far as we're concerned, and could really only be fairly decided by an impartial 3rd party of great expertise. I'm happy in my opinion as I'm sure you are in yours.
