Winky Wright has been champ for a fraction of the time that Hopkins has therefore I will do the smart thing by respecting Hopkins in a higher regard than I do Winky.

Winky is a good fighter dont get me wrong but he is not as good as his performance may suggest against Tito. In fact that fight is fools gold in a way.

You mention Winky and his 50+ fights, very nice point, how many of those fights were title fights?

As for smarts your right **** the IQ thing neither of us are speaking about that, Im talking about ring smarts, Nard may be as sharp in the ring as any fighter ever-0this could be Nards best attribute. Winky is smart but he still has a way to go before he can even be mentioned in Hopkins class, we both no that.

As for defense, I know everbody gets touched at some pioint in their career but Nard has never really been touched all that much or at least not in the last 5 or 6 years...watch winky fight JC Candello and you will realize that he can be hit...if he fights Taylor which he wont do he will be hit!

you have good points, don't get me wrong, im just saying you don't have to jump all over someones comments like that. i have mutual respect for all three fighters in regards to their talents and what they can do in the ring, thats all.

Winky is as seasoned and smart as Bernard with better defense, Bernard hits harder. If Taylor couldnt beat, or hit Bernard with one clean shot no way in hell he beats Winky. Who has the even better jab.

Hopkins has got a mobile defense. He dodges punches and uses his depth footwork to evade an opponent.

Winky's on the other hand has got a static defense, which make him easier to tag but the problem is that he puts up a formidable barrier that smaller boxers find hard to penetrate. Of course he's also got that stiff jab he uses to score and to deter the other guy's offense. I think JT, being a fast natural middleweight, is strong enough to crack that armor. He no slouch in the jabbing department either.

before the taylor/hopkins fight i would have picked winky. but since the taylor win i feel that taylor has aquired three years of expirience instantly from hopkins.

and mosley was close in second winky fight.

so i now pick taylor over winky.

ive always thought winky could beat hopkins

Hopkins is better than Winky. Taylor beat Hopkins but it was very close. However i think Taylor will make big improvements after this fight and well be more relaxed in big fights. I see Taylor winning by close descion or late round ko over Winky.
