But I'm not so convinced that DLH would beat Packie.

Prime DLH definitely beats Mayweather BTW
I'm not so sure about Hoya beating May but it would have a toss up fight IMO.The same with May and Shane. But Pac I think loses to Hoya to much height and reach and Hoya would have been able to pull the trigger and at his natural weight in his prime.

10 years ago at WW Oscar De La Hoya was very good. I would have favored him over Cotto at WW in their primes and also at 154.

A prime Oscar would've beat Floyd, Cotto and Pacquiao, being Floyd the most difficult to beat. Back to the main topic, Oscar would've beat Cotto by late TKO. Cotto has a big problem with uppercuts and Oscar had a great one, plus his jab would've landed at will too.

Oscar beats his ass badly, I say mid to late round stoppage, Oscar was a beast in his prime!

packy has way too many holes in that D to be able to beat a prime Oscar but it would be a nice action packed fight
Packy isn't easy to hit. If he wanted to he could fight in and out all night but its just his warrior comes out of him and he goes toe to toe a lot.

yea, Cotto is a sucker for left uppercuts in particular. Actually, I think Pacquiao is too, now that I mention it, despite their weaknesses being pretty different from a technical aspect.

looking back, man, De La Hoya was really fast, and yet his punches still had good power. His left hook in particular was so quick.

DLH Mayweather would have been a difficult fight to score, but DLH's jab was too quick at WW imo.

The only way to knock out Cotto is a ton of pressure. De La Hoya doesn't put on enough pressure to be able to wear him down and knock him out. But De La Hoya could outbox him. If Cotto could cut off the ring and get him on the ropes and pound 2 the body, then Cotto wins a decision. If its gonna stay in the middle, Prime De La hoya has faster hands and footwork. so it favors him

Yes man his left hook was something special, he could've put Cotto and Pac to sleep with one of those. And yes, his jab was quick, that would've been a big difference against Floyd.

That Oscar was definitely too good for today's welters.
