trust me when that story broke , the whole office was quiet that day.

the branch manager called me into his office to talk about it.

when shaq was leaving , people were disappointed.

when kobe asked to be traded , people were ****ting bricks.
I think he would be just as hated if not more hated if he left. Well of course LA fans were scared, the team would have become the Nets if Kobe left.

Thats a huge insult to Yao.

Yao's height is obviously a advantage but the guy is a great player with a ton of skills. His ability on the court isn't solely based on his height.

The same for Williams really but not to the same extent. Williams is tall but he doesn't ever use his height because he is a come forward high energy fighter.

Williams can box abit also but obviously he is far better on the attack.

aren't the Klitchko's bigger then most fighters in their division?

I don't get all the bitching and complaining about Williams height, as long as he makes weight that is all that matters, at 5'9 Marvin Hagler fought at 6'1 Hearns, and Hagler being the warrior and the legend that he is, he figured out a way to get around Hearns reach advantage and got the win...THAT IS WHAT GREAT FIGHTERS DO! a truly great fighter can figure out how to beat ANYONE regardless of STYLE and Size Advantage

so the height and reach excuse is not a good one, Margarito is 5'11, Williams fought him and beat him at the time when Margarito was suppose to be considered the "Most Feared and Most Avoided Welterweight", Paul Williams been calling out Kelly Pavlik for YEARS at 160 and they are about the same size but Arum and Pavlik pulled out of 2 fighters, clearly they don't want NO PART Williams

Williams is not "Picking on little guys" he wants to fight the BEST and if that means moving down in weight then he is willing to do it, fans are quick to call someone "overrated" or "not that good" but yet I don't see any other fighters or trainers saying the same thing, Paul Williams size and WORK RATE would give ALL THESE GUYS PROBLEMS and they know it and their fans know it that is why they want him to move up in weight and stay at 160

i do know that while snaq was healing 'on company time', Kobe went on a tear...he dropped at least 40 in like 8 straight games to help our playoff position seeding

the dude hurts his left shoulder in a game, he comes in the 2nd half shooting with his right...snaq gets a hangnail and he sits for 5 games

                  not really.

                  most l.a. fans understood.

it wasn't like they were #1 seed back to back seasons and he bolted like lebron.

he had kwame brown , luke walton and smush parker for crying out loud.

him bitching actually was what the fans were thinking at the time.

"no jason kidd because of andrew "****ing" bynum?!?!?!"

l.a. fans were mad at him for all but a few minutes.

they booed him at the start of the 1st game of that season but was going crazy rooting for him minutes into the game.

this town loves kobe. always have.

during all the shaq-kobe controversy in the later years , media always made it seem like lakers fans in l.a. were on shaq's side and against kobe.

in truth the media was on shaq's side.

for me , most of the hardcore laker fans were actually kobe guys. the shaq guys was usually casual or bandwagon lakers fans from my experience.

Shaq's problem was he was lazy, but when he wanted to go off, he would decimate any team in the NBA when he wanted. Those days are gone now, and he will be playing back up to Kendrick Perkins.

people outside l.a. will never understand kobe.

it still annoys me when they talk "sidekick this" and "sidekick that".

yeah sidekick maybe in the 1st title run and before.

by the time of the 2nd title , kobe was averaging 28 , 6 and 5.

that ain't no ***** sidekick anymore.

probably people who just watch the finals and see shaq win the mvp against eastern teams with no big man.

in the west playoffs , kobe was at least half the time more important.
