The only issue seems to be getting the big names involved, there must not be enough money on the table.

The superstar of the current super six had only two real superstars in it from the start.

The declining Jermain Taylor and the reliable Mikkel Kessler.

Now they are basically all stars, so at least up and comers can see the benefits in such a promotion.

I prefer Moreno and Hasegawa over Darch and Agbeko though.
I'd prefer Moreno and Hasegawa as well, but I understand why Darchinyan and Agbeko were chosen. They've been on Showtime before and are more well know in the US.

What is the point of adding those two if they're already in the process of fighting each other?. And for sure they will fight other comers after their fight and will ultimately lead to fighting the other 4 fighters ...and of course Darchiyan will duck both of them in the process.

They are better off staging a super 8 in the lightweight division. There's more exciting fighter there.

I definitely agree with adding Hasegawa. One of the things that has made the Super Six so profitable is the connection with the European TV market. None of these guys is European, so you won't get that, but boxing is huge in Japan, and getting an exclusive deal with Japanese TV can't hurt. Additionally, getting Western fighters on Japanese TV increases their exposure in Japan, and vice versa for Hasegawa getting exposure in the US.

I don't think Arum had anything 2 do with this. I say that only bcuz he would look like such a scumbag 2 Montiel if he was the 1 that actually wasn't interested in the tourney and then goes says it was Montiel that wasn't interested. I doubt Fernando would let Bob throw him under the bus like that if he wasn't the 1 that said no when asked 2 join. Ya smell me????.

Its funny people is quick to blame arum on this one but reality is that arum is trying to get Donaire and Montiel fight as an undercard to either pacquaio vs margarito or Cotto vs chavez which means its going to be a HBO ppv.

Wont showtime let this fight happen first then start the tourney.

Man, this tourney has to happen. It would be a great sequel to the Super Six.

Props to Showtime. Don't give up, be patient and make it happen. Please.
