At 160, Martinez will do worse damage to Mosley then Floyd did. He's really a bad matchup.

Paul Williams career is about to be up in smoke, guy turns down Martinez, begs to fight Mosley the Pac. When is Williams going to decide to stop playing games and just fight at Middleweight where he looked the most impressive?Originally posted by Irish Hitman View PostPacquaio @ 160 never! He couldnt
Mosley offered to fight Pac at 142/141 and then 140 , now it turned to 160 ?
When did Williams turn down Martinez ?
I doubt that Martinez can destroy Mosley even at this point.

would it really be a 9th world championship if there is a catchweight?
i mean i dont agree it would be.
i love shane, but both cant weigh 152 for a middleweight title
i like pac, he puts on great fights, but how can floyd sit back and let him get
all this praise and titles in HIS country.
floyd needs to step up and fight pacman.
and god bless mosley for still fighting tough competition.
mora is barely a name, but his height and reach, along with bigger frame will be challenging for shane at this stage in his career.

.... mosley maybe good for 2 fights more at the most but he maybe nuts at this point in time to face or much more challenge pacquaio at 160 .... he had his chances & moments it's time to move on .... to retirement ....

slow pavlik landed a lot of punches and so did a slower than mosley pwill
martinezs footwork and agility would most likely be a problem for shane at this stage.
although a very interesting matchup.

my only concern was how bad he was gasping from round 6 and up. the endurance just was not there for some reason.
lets see how he looks against mora whos length, height and bigger frame will be challenging in its own right.
i dont agree with a ppv for this fight tho. hbo would have been more sufficient

Marquez didn't, really.
What happens is that you get mentally tired very quickly. There's no way that Shane getting tired in 5-6 rounds was a physical thing. He was sparring regularly. If you asked Shane to run 8 miles on May 1, he would have done it easily.
His punch output was low, and he didn't have to chase Floyd. It was just a technical/mental exhaustion.

Let's just say Mosley does everything he wants to do and wins a title at 160. I gaurantee Pacquiao turns a middleweight title shot into a jr. welterweight if that. Just as i've started to come around to Pacquiao he starts to pull this catchweight bull**** again. Enough! I refuse to give him credit for winning titles if he doesn't want to do it at the actual weight it is supposed to be fought at. Manny continues to cheapen his accomplishments (which are many and most legitimate) but this will surely break that trend and will no doubt cause historians to point that fact out in the years to come.Last edited by Migs; 08-05-2010, 09:08 AM.
