first of margarito got the highest gate at staples center after he beat cotto, the offer to mayweather was before he beat cotto and became a big name.

the same 8 million was offered from baldomir. now im well aware TODAY baldomir isnt consodered a top fighter, but back then he was considered a better fighter than margarito. he had just beat judah who still had a good reputation and was coming of a KO win over cory spinks, another at the time highly regarded fighter. baldomir held the WBC, WBA, IBF and Ring Magazine titles compared to margaritos WBO and was ranked #1 in the division (judah #2, margarito #3).

back the everyone was saying floyd was ducking baldomir, nobody gave a damn about margarito at the time.
