I thought Jones won even though it was a while ago since I've seen it. It was definitely competetive and close through the entire fight. And that's the difference between Jones Tarve 1 and Hopkins Taylor 1. Taylor won the first rounds of the fight slightly, without landing many really good shots. He just landed a few more jabs. But in the end, Hopkins was the one dominating in the tell-tale rounds, and landing the best shots of the fight with his counter-right, repeatedly. Taylor was hurt and tired, Hopkins was not. I agree, the way boxing is scored, the kid probably did have an edge in points. But really, the way the kid won was not the way a champion should be crowned. To take someone's title, you should have to be competetive through the entire fight. Hopkins was having his way with him in the championship rounds.

        lol

Oh, so now I'm a hypocrit??? Guess that makes you a biased Jones fan, right? See, I never would have pointed that out before, since name calling aint my 'thing'
You are a hypocrite if you are trying to say Tarver's belts were taken away but Hopkins' were not. If that's what you say, then yes, you are.

On a side note, sticks and stones...

Maybe you're a biased Tarver fan? Who knows...

this reminds me of the good old days when Tracy had bitter arguments with a canadian guy about Roy Jones v Tarver...help me out, what was his name? One of the original BS wars I believe.

Yes, the final 3 rds are the most important, but I add mine up after each rd...and thats why I had taylor winning by a slim margin. Otherwise, I'd have to go back and take a few rds from taylor, just to accomidate nards winning the final rds. I dont do that..once I've added that rd up, it stays.

the one and only 'No Hero'...we settled that, so I'm not about to get into it yet again (atleast he didnt call me a hypocrit)

You know md, I actually kind of miss his posts. We became buds after that cause we agreed to disagree, and he said atleast I had the guts to post my scorecard (which I did) and the funny thing is we only disagreed on a couple of rds! Which is why he had jones winning and I had it a draw.

I'm just going by what Jim Lampley said about the first round. That's actually the only round that I know the stats and of course the final stats.

I'm just callin' it like I see it. Why can't you stand Tarver. I thought for sure you would love the guy since he stopped Roy.

Yah ... I know that technically, Taylor probably one the fight on points. But usually, in championship fights, the judges kind of BS around that, and the challenger has to dominate to get their title. This is just one of the problems I have with the way boxing is scored. I think Hopkins proved he was the better fighter, even though, by the rule book, the kid probably won, slightly. The kid threw a lot of punches that missed. His connect percentage was terrible, and he didn't land very many good shots. But he looked busy, and looking busy can win you rounds, because defense doesn't count for much on the score cards. I just thought it was a bad way to hand so many titles over to someone.
