I love that he stopped jones, but dont much like the ego he 'stole' from jones by doing it. If you really want to know, I disliked Jones so much, and for so long, that when tarver ko'ed him I cried like a baby! So the fact that I was actually unbiased enough to score the first fight a draw at all should tell you youre being unfair in saying I forget how to score when it's jones! The 10 pts must system rules, and I know exactly how to use it.

        hmm

I didn't think you scored it a draw to be honest. I disagree with that score but find it acceptable. I think we are on the same page now. I get ya.

I think Hopkins proved he was the better fighter, even though, by the rule book, the kid probably won, slightly. The kid threw a lot of punches that missed. His connect percentage was terrible, and he didn't land very many good shots. But he looked busy, and looking busy can win you rounds, because defense doesn't count for much on the score cards. I just thought it was a bad way to hand so many titles over to someone.
Isnt that pretty much the same complaint that so many DLH fans had over his 2nd loss to Mosley?? shane threw less, but they landed and were harder, etc. Get my point?? I'm not trying to confuse on purpose (it come quite naturally )

sorry, I though I had posted that already...114-114. As in, not enough to take the champs belts. the other guy I debated this issue with for like 4 straight days finally decided my score wasnt too bad either, and he was die hard jones, all the way!

I think it should have been a draw, at least. Taylor did not deserve a win. You have to take a fight from a champion. You can't take a fight from a champion by losing the championship rounds. Honestly, I've never seen a title get given away like that.
MY Thoughts exactly! A young DLH would not have gotten the decision again JCC if the fight was fought the same way. BOTTOM LINE IS TAYLOR DID NOT DO ENOUGH TO TAKE AWAY A 12 YR REIGN WITH THAT PERFORMANCE. Alot say that Taylor won 7 of first eight but rounds like 3, 7, & 8 were very close & if one of those was scored for Hopkins then at least it is a draw.

But how can you use total punch stats to determine who won each individual round?

No one has short term memory man. BHop was nicer, crisper in his punches thru out. Yes Taylor was the aggressor, and picked up points on that basis, but I had Hop winning it.
