Will Taylor be able to rebound from his loss? He sounds really low in confidence now

    hmm

Hopkins out boxed & out hustled the "younger, stronger, & faster" Taylor. He made Taylor look like he was 40 instead of Hopkins. The fact is Hopkins controlled the tempo of the fight & countered well for the 1st several rounds. Slowly Hopkins turned up his attack & was able to pull away from Taylor sweeping the 2nd half of the fight.
That's only half truth. Taylor threw many more punches, moved forward on Hopkins, stunned Hopkins in the early rounds, and landed about as many punches as Hopkins threw in the early rounds. Landing one or two power punches doesn't win a round when for the remainder of the round all you do is run and posture.

Taylor threw more punches but didn't land much. His aggression was wasted on the fact that he couldn't capitalize on it. Yes he thre punches & was coming forward but he wasn't effective. He wasn't controlling the tempo. He'd throw combos to once in a while & most of them would hit the gloves or shoulders. Through that fight Hopkins was never stunned. The only time Hopkins looked surprised was that clubbing of a right hand that landed on the back of the head when Hokins ducked & lost balance & went into the ropes. Hopkins didn't, he made Taylor look like an amateur with those wide punches he was throwing.

He was controlling the tempo. Hopkins being satisfied in his own lack of effort in the early rounds doesn't make him effective. He executed his early gameplan of doing nothing, so what? Taylor out-performed Hopkins in th early going. Bernard's fault or not, that's what happened. And yes, Taylor did land on him.

nothing about this post makes a bit of sense. He didnt lose..went home with HIS titles, and as usual, after winning he talked of what he needs to improve, etc. Same ole Jermain...so humble and knows he can and will do better next time.
NO spirit?? What the hell kept him up when Nard decided to actually fight (since fouls was the way most of the night for him) and managed to land flush?? Boy showed he can not only hang with the best, but he can beat the best..and his chin finally got tested, which he handled well.

Hopkin didn't land much either, at least Taylor throw more punches. Compubox had Hopkins landing 10 more punches & the reason was Hopkins was holding & hitting Taylor 3 or 4 times, Hopkins did this like 20 times during the fight. Actually Taylor landed more punches, if you take away the fouls from Hopkins, because those fouls of Hopkins should've not counted, but the compubox counts every single punch.

I thought I was watching a John Ruiz fight because EVERYTIME Hopkins even got close, Taylor would lock his arms up. Nady even kept saying throughout the fight, Hopkins can punch & Taylor couldn't because Taylor initiated the holding. When Taylor would react & start to hit while holding Nady would break them up & tell him he couldn't hold & hit. So about Hopkins not landing much: I scored alot of rounds for Hokins because 1- Taylor might have been throwing but he wasn't landing. He wasn't cutting the ring off & trying to make Hopkins fight. 2- When Hopkins landed they were the cleaner & harder punches. He made Taylor miss & Taylor didn't take the fight to Hopkins. In a championship fight you have fight like you wanna win & Taylor didn't do that.

Why do people keep saying that Taylor should have been better conditioned than B-Hop?

Do you even follow boxing at all?

People work their way up into longer fights... B-Hop SHOULD have been able to outwork Taylor throughout the entire fight, not just the last 4 rounds.

Common, COMMON boxing knowledge that younger fighters usually gas earlier until they get a few 12 rounders(especially title fights) under their belts... If you haven't realized this by now, stop watchin the sport.

hahahhahaaha Taylor never stunned Hopkins, wtf? when was this. Thats why people think Taylor won all the 1st 8 rounds. Cause he was taking, but he wasnt connecting a damn thing. Whats funny is the picture that Taylors fans use to show he beat Bernard, its the pic where Bernard was off balanced and was pushed against the ropes, and people say he was hurt. Also every time Taylor threw punch that missed the crowd and HBO annoucers got really excited. Bernard countered the kid all night. And after the 5th round Bernard did exactly whats he wanted.

yah but ur talkign about a 40 year old guy here against a 26 year old. I would agree if it was an old 34 or 30 year old but Bernard is old as hell. Also Taylor is stronger than Bernard.
