I hope Chavez Jr vs. Cotto does happen!!! I will be in Vegas front row!!!!!
It will be the end of Miguel "The Greatest Hype in Boxing History" Cottos career.
I can't wait..... please Uncle Bob... MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's go Chavez, Roach, and Ariza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LMAO, you're funny. You put "Greatest Hype in Boxing History" and you put Cotto's name there. Coming from a Mexican it's fine with me, but the problem I have is that you put that in quotes and somehow replaced Chavez Jr with Cotto. You also claim Cotto isn't **** and all the other hater crap, say he lost to Mosley, he didn't but for the sake of argument I'll agree with you. But you are riding the nuts of Margarito, a guy with THREE times as many losses as Cotto, but a guy who got KTFO by the guy Cotto beat. I'm over the fact that people hate on Cotto or PR's or any race for that matter. You could be talking any other fighter and I'd still post how ****** the **** you are typing is.

Also, how hyped up can Cotto really be... he's had about 35 fights now. He has two losses, one to the best fighter in the world and the other to a known cheater. Lets say marg didn't even use, as much as you mexicans hype the guy up Cotto should have lost being the bum he is no? Yet... Chavez Jr, who hasn't even beaten a top ten in any division, isn't the hype job. Cotto is, the guy who has been in the ring with at least 1 ATG in Manny, faced the top 5 in the 140 and 147 pound division and is moving onto his third... I can keep going but I'll just stop. I know I'm going to get a dumb response from Marg fan #11, but I just had to post that.

As for the fight, its nothing more than a tune-up for Cotto and a way to make him look good. Seriously, Chavez is going from fighting Duddy to Cotto and thats a big step up from anyone, however, because Jr has been so protected, his step up to face Duddy was MASSIVE the fact that he's going to do it again with a real fighter has bad news written all over it for him. Cotto wins and looks good if Floyd bitches out we'll have Pac/Cotto 2. Roach can build Cotto up because he watched him fight up close, toss in new weight, Cotto's had two KO wins after his loss to Manny and we have another 1mil PPV. Where is Chavez in all this? The same spot he was before, a hype job but simply because of his name Mexicans will think he be as good or better than his father and he'll move on to stompin on tomato can middleweights. Its a win/win for Bob and Cotto really.

Why the **** would he do that?

Miguel Cotto is the most recognizable and bankable boxer in the fight game not named Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather- and that's all thanks to Uncle Bob and Top Rank. Just look at his past 12 months- fought the P4P king of boxing in a megafight that did 1.25 mil buys and he banked $13+ million. Then, he gets a shot to win a new weight class belt and bank another $2mil guaranteed in a Yankee Stadium fight that garnered 2 million views on HBO (best of the year for the network so far this year). And he's potentially going to fight a name brand in Chavez Jr (a guy who can pull in 100K PPV buys w/ limited exposure and no 24/7) for more money in the bank in Vegas. And in the future he'll get a crack at revenge against Pacquiao and/or Margarito and potentially rake in $15-$20 mil in high profile PPV fights in Cowboys Stadium, or Yankees Stadium, or the MGM, maybe Abu Dhabi.

But you're right, he'd be better off going with Gary Shaw or Goosen so he can fight in half-empty 2,000 seat Indian Casinos for $30,000 against some guy no one's ever heard of and then beg on National TV for a fight that will never happen against Manny Pacquiao.

Sound strategy. You should be a manager.

Only if you agree that when Chavez loses, you leave the site for good. Deal? I would add him getting KO'd, but I know next to nothing about Chavez chin as he's never fought anyone... but along with hard heads, Mexicans seem to have hard ass chins as well.

I missed the thing about you being in the front row... this made me LOL when I read it again. Firstly, those tickets are going to cost 2-3 grand which I doubt you can afford, if so, I'd like to see you after the fight as I live in Vegas and would LOVE to see you reaction when Jr. face plants into the Tecate logo. I bet I'll see his **** slide simultaneously out of your mouth at the exact moment it happens.

Why is Arum trying so hard to end Cotto's career?

Cotto made Arum stinking rich...why is his feelings so hurt lately? First it was the blatant favortism of Foreman...you could see the fake ass smug smile he gave Cotto after the dominant win. You could tell he really wanted Foreman to end Cotto on the big stage and now its Chavez who gets to build his name off of Cotto?

I can't be the only one that sees what Arum is doing...he is just beggin for Cotto to lose to his rising star and when Cotto leaves, its not big deal because he got what he needed off of him. Its time Cotto steps in and puts an end to this...based on the Foreman fight which like more than half the press and fans picked Cotto to lose that the fire still runs deep in him and his pride wants him to get back in with Pac...but Cotto has to see the pattern here

Vanes? Chavez Jr.? Who's next after Chavez? C'Mon Miguel...free yourself...become a free-agent, just don't sign with Don King...cause he makes Arum look like Jesus

WTH... Firstly, I saw a video on youtube from a few years ago with Todd DeBeouf in it, who is Bob's stepson or something like that and he's the one that has been Cotto's promoter not Bob. Bob admitted he's the "media" man but the guy running Cotto's career was Todd. Secondly, posting **** like "trying to ruin Cotto's career" when he is facing guys like Chavez Jr. makes it worse because Chavez is garbage and Cotto shouldn't lose to him. If Cotto DOES lose to him, its HIS fault because he lost to a bum, but a bum who offers a huge payday. Chavez is quit possibly Mexico's biggest star, even more than Margarito or Marquez and its all based off of the name. Even casual fans are going to hear Chavez Jr/Cotto and get curios simply off of name recognition.

The last time Cotto fought a Mexican he did 500k buys with him, put in an even more popular Mexican name, with an even more well known Cotto and this fight meets the 500k Cotto did with Marg. That again is IF its on PPV, I'm not too sure if it will or won't be though. Lastly, this is a great move by Top Rank. Chavez is undefeated he can afford a loss to Cotto and get expsure, they can play up that he was young and that Cotto still has a lot left, which sets up a Pac rematch should the Floyd fight not get made. Trust me, Top Rank is not dumb enough to get rid of Cotto yet, the guy just put 20k seats in Yankee Stadium after a loss... he's a draw they know better than to just drop their biggest money make behind Manny.
